GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Uses
SMART GOLD is a short residual, pre-emergent herbicide effective against many annual grasses and broadleaf weeds in specified crops. It acts mainly through shoot absorption and requires rainfall or irrigation to move it into the soil for optimal effectiveness.

Application
For ground application, apply SMART GOLD in a minimum of 60 L/ha of water. Aerial application is not permitted.

Mixing
When mixing, add SMART GOLD while adding water to the spray tank. Ensure good agitation during mixing and application. Wettable powder or water dispersible granule formulations should be added to the tank first, followed by suspension concentrates, water soluble salts, and then SMART GOLD or other emulsifiable concentrate formulations.

Compatibility
SMART GOLD is compatible with various herbicides including Flowable Cotogard, Flowable Cotoran, Flowable Gesagard, Flowable Gesaprim, Gesaprim Granules 900 WG, Logran, Basagran, Spray.Seed, and Roundup.

Warnings

  • Cotton: Avoid use in dry soil or soil with marginal moisture conditions to prevent crop injury.

  • Brassica Crops: Crop retardation may occur in soils with low organic matter content and high fine sand and silt content. Limit irrigation after application.

  • Zero Tillage: Exercise caution when applying post-seeding with zero tillage methods.

  • Resistance Weed Warning: SMART GOLD is a Group 15 herbicide, and resistance may develop in weed populations with repeated use.

  • Precautions: Avoid entering treated areas without protective clothing until the spray has dried. Take care to prevent spray drift onto nearby susceptible plants, crops, or pastures.

Protection Guidelines

  • Crops: Avoid planting certain crops within 6 months of SMART GOLD application.

  • Livestock: Do not graze or cut Sweet Potato leaves treated with SMART GOLD for stock food.

  • Environment: Avoid contaminating streams, rivers, or waterways with SMART GOLD or used containers. Take care to prevent spray drift onto adjacent areas, particularly wetlands, water bodies, or watercourses.
