GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

  • Imtrade Smash 300 Selective Herbicide is a water-soluble liquid with non-selective herbicidal activity against broadleaf weeds.
  • Controls emerged weeds only and provides no residual control, although specific plant back periods should be observed.
  • Absorbed by plant foliage, it accumulates to toxic levels in regions of growth and reproduction, disrupting nutrient balance.
  • Visible effects include gradual yellowing, wilting, and browning of above-ground growth with root system deterioration.

APPLICATION CONDITIONS:

  • DO NOT treat weeds under poor growing or dormant conditions, e.g., during drought, water-logging, disease, insect damage, following frost, or if weeds are heavily covered with dust or silt.
  • Reduced results may occur if weeds are stressed from previous herbicide applications.
  • Rainfall within 6 hours after application may reduce effectiveness.
  • DO NOT spray in strong winds.

CROP ESTABLISHMENT:

  • Recommended as a herbicide additive to glyphosate for controlling emerged weeds before crop establishment.
  • Observe specific Plant Back Periods to ensure safe sowing.
  • Plant Back Period influenced by moisture, temperature, and soil characteristics; delay sowing if necessary.
  • Conditions affecting crop germination include heavy green or decaying weed growth, soil compaction, crusting, cold and wet soils, deep seeding, or prior use of residual herbicides.
  • To minimize effects, reduce weed bulk, produce a friable seedbed, avoid pre-emergent herbicides contributing to reduced germination, and use correct seeding depth.
  • Preferably, spray early to control weeds in less advanced stages and ensure a suitable seedbed for early sowing under optimal soil temperatures.

APPLICATION METHODS:

  1. BOOM EQUIPMENT:

    • Recommended spray volumes: 25-100L/ha.
    • Minimum volume of 30L/ha if Lusta*, Glean*, Ally*, or Associate* included; 100L/ha if Simazine included.
    • Flat fan nozzle equipment at pressures of 240-280kPa.
    • Set boom height for double overlap of nozzle patterns at the top of weed canopy.
  2. AERIAL EQUIPMENT:

    • Minimum spray volume: 15L/ha using Micronair or boom equipment.
    • Droplets with an average size of 250-350 microns are recommended.
    • Swath width: 15-17 meters.
    • Increase water volume to 30L/ha and droplet size to 300 microns if temperature exceeds 25°C.
    • DO NOT apply by aircraft when temperature is above 35°C.
    • DO NOT use in intensive horticultural cropping areas.
    • Wash aircraft thoroughly, especially landing gear, after each day of spraying to remove herbicide residues.

EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE:

  • Use stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, fiberglass, or plastic-lined containers or spray tanks. DO NOT use galvanized or unlined steel containers.
  • Thoroughly clean equipment after use with hot soapy water, 1% ammonia solution, or Spraymate Tank & Equipment Cleaner.
  • Follow decontamination procedures when using sulfonylurea herbicides (Lusta*, Glean*, Ally*, Associate*).

SURFACTANT ADDITION:

  • DO NOT add surfactant except for Conservation Tillage, where the product is tank-mixed with a glyphosate product.
  • Use non-ionic surfactant or acidifying surfactant LI-700* according to label directions on the glyphosate product or use Bonus* with Credit*.
  • Use LI-700* with glyphosate if insecticides are included or for faster weed brownout.
  • DO NOT use LI-700* or Bonus* if sulfonylurea herbicides (Lusta*, Glean*, Ally*, Associate*) are included in the mixture.

TANK MIXTURES:

  • Designed for tank mixing with glyphosate herbicides.
  • Compatible with other foliage-applied and/or residual herbicides and adjuvants for extended weed control.
  • Follow all label directions, restraints, plant back periods, withholding periods, and safety instructions for tank mix products.

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Fill the spray tank halfway with clean water and start agitation.
  2. Add recommended herbicide additive/insecticide and mix thoroughly.
  3. Add Imtrade Smash 300 Selective Herbicide and mix thoroughly.
  4. Add glyphosate product and the remaining water.
  5. Add surfactant near the end of the filling process.
  6. Maintain adequate agitation during application and use the tank mix promptly.
