DIRECTIONS FOR USE
SPRAY DRIFT RESTRAINTS
DO NOT apply if there are aquatic and wetland areas including aquacultural ponds, surface streams and rivers downwind from the application area and within the mandatory no-spray zones shown in Table 1 below.

No-Spray Zones for Protection of the Aquatic Environment
For Aerial application to Bananas
Wind Speed Range at Time of Application: From 3 to 20 kilometres per hour
Downwind Mandatory No-Spray Zone: 100 metres

For Ground application to Bananas
Wind Speed Range at Time of Application: From 3 to 20 kilometres per hour
Downwind Mandatory No-Spray Zone: 20 metres

For Ground and Aerial application to Wheat and Barley
Wind Speed Range at Time of Application: From 3 to 20 kilometres per hour
Downwind Mandatory No-Spray Zone: 30 metres

WHEAT
Disease: Leaf Rust (Puccinia recondita)
Rate / ha: 500 mL plus 200 mL Wetspray 1000 per 100 L of spray mix
Critical comments: Apply when conditions favour disease development and prior to development of disease in the crop. Aim to apply between stem elongation and ear emergence complete (ZGS 32-59) if disease is present. DO NOT apply later than ZGS 59.

Disease: Stripe Rust (Puccinia striformis), Septoria Nodorum Blotch (Phaeosphaeria nodorum)
Rate / ha: 250 to 500 mL plus 200 mL Wetspray 1000 per 100 L of spray mix
Critical comments: Apply when conditions favour disease development and prior to development of disease in the crop. Aim to apply between stem elongation and ear emergence complete (ZGS 32-59) if disease is present. DO NOT apply later than ZGS 59.
Apply the higher rate when disease is present on the top leaf or conditions are favourable for disease development at these stages of crop development. Repeat spraying may be required, particularly if infection occurs early. Regularly monitor crops from 3-4 weeks after the first application for signs of re-infection.

Disease: Powdery Mildew (Bluemeria graminis f.sp. tritici)
Rate / ha: 250 mL plus 200 mL Wetspray 1000 per 100 L of spray mix
Critical comments: Apply when conditions favour disease development and prior to development of disease in the crop. Aim to apply during early tillering (ZGS 21-22) stage of the crop if disease is present. DO NOT apply later than ZGS 59.
Repeat spraying may be required, particularly if infection pressure persists.
Regularly monitor crops from 3-4 weeks after the first application for signs of re-infection.

BARLEY
Disease: Leaf Rust (Puccinia recondita)
Rate / ha: 250 to 500 mL plus 200 mL Wetspray 1000 per 100 L of spray mix
Critical comments: Apply when conditions favour disease development and prior to development of disease in the crop. Aim to apply between stem elongation and ear emergence complete (ZGS 32-59) if disease is present. DO NOT apply later than ZGS 59. Apply the higher rate when disease is present on the top leaf or conditions are favourable for disease development at these stages of crop development.
DO NOT exceed a total rate of 500 mL/ha SOPRANO in a growing season.

Disease: Net form of Net Blotch (Pyrenophora teres f.sp. teres)
Two applications of SOPRANO at the lower rate may provide better control than a single application under certain conditions. If applyng a two spray program, only apply 250 mL/ha per application, with the first application at ZGS 31-32 if the disease is present.
Aim to apply the second application around ZGS 37-39, but no later than ZGS 59, if infection pressure persists.
DO NOT exceed a total rate of 500 mL/ha of SOPRANO in barley per growing season.
DO NOT exceed a total rate of 500 mL/ha SOPRANO in a growing season.

Disease: Leaf Scald (Rynchosporium secalis), Powdery Mildew (Blumeria graminis f.sp. hordei)
Rate / ha: 250 mL plus 200 mL Wetspray 1000 per 100 L of spray mix
Critical comments: Apply when conditions favour disease development and prior to development of disease in the crop. Aim to apply between early tillering and flag leaf emergence (ZGS 32-59) if disease is present.
DO NOT apply later than ZGS 59.
Repeat spraying may be required, particularly if infection pressure persists. Regularly monitor the crop from 3-4 weeks after the first application for signs of re-infection.
DO NOT exceed a total rate of 500 mL/ha of SOPRANO in barley per growing season.

BANANAS
(bagged)
Disease: Leaf Spot (Yellow Sigatoka) (Mycosphaerella musicola), Leaf Speckle (Mycosphaerella musae)
Rate / ha: 600 mL + 5 L of a water miscible spraying oil
Critical comments: DO NOT use on bananas unless bunch covers are in place.
Tropical areas (north Qld, NT, WA): Apply a regular protectant program. When conditions favour disease development, apply a maximum of 2 consecutive sprays of SOPRANO at 14 to 21 day intervals, before switching to a fungicide from an alternative activity group. DO NOT apply more than 6 sprays of Group 3 Fungicides in any 12-month period. DO NOT Apply SOPRANO during the months of July, August or September.
Sub-tropical areas (south Qld, NSW): Commence spraying with SOPRANO at the onset of wet/humid conditions. Apply a maximum of 2 consecutive sprays at 21 to 28 day intervals before changing to a fungicide from an alternative activity group. DO NOT apply more than 5 sprays of Group 3 Fungicides in any 12-month period.

NOT TO BE USED FOR ANY PURPOSE, OR IN ANY MANNER, CONTRARY TO THIS LABEL UNLESS AUTHORISED UNDER APPROPRIATE LEGISLATION.

WITHHOLDING PERIODS:
WHEAT, BARLEY: DO NOT HARVEST FOR 6 WEEKS AFTER APPLICATION.
DO NOT GRAZE OR CUT FOR STOCKFOOD FOR 6 WEEKS AFTER APPLICATION.
BANANAS (BAGGED): DO NOT HARVEST FOR 1 DAY AFTER APPLICATION.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
SOPRANO® Fungicide is a broad spectrum contact and systemic fungicide. It is taken up via the stem and foliage and is translocated upwards and outwards to provide protection to new growth. Thorough coverage of the crop is necessary for best results.
Wheat, Barley: Check the crop regularly for any symptoms of disease infection. Apply as soon as disease is present on the flag leaf or flag-2. Application beyond flag leaf emergence (ZGS 39) may not provide any yield benefit, particularly under dry seasonal conditions.

MIXING
SOPRANO is a suspension concentrate formulation. Add the product to the half filled spray tank while agitating. Continue to agitate while topping up the tank and during spraying.

APPLICATION
Cereals
Ground Application: Apply in a water volume of between 50 and 100 L/ha, using flat fan nozzles operating at around 50 cm above the top of the crop. Use the higher water volume in crops with heavier canopies.
Aerial Application: Apply with suitable aircraft, set up and operated to apply fungicides to cereal crops in a minimum water volume of 20 L/ha.
Bananas
Ground Application: Apply by misting machine, in a minimum application volume of 200 L/ha.
Aerial Application: Apply in a minimum application volume of 30 L/ha.

COMPATIBILITY
For information on compatibility please contact your local reseller or Adama representative.

FUNGICIDE RESISTANCE WARNING
SOPRANO® Fungicide is a member of the DMI group of fungicides. For fungicide resistance management SOPRANO is a Group 3 fungicide. Some naturally occurring individual fungi resistant to SOPRANO and other Group 3 fungicides may exist through normal genetic variability in any fungal population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the fungal population if these fungicides are used repeatedly. These resistant fungi will not be controlled by this product or other Group 3 fungicides, thus resulting in a reduction in efficacy and possible yield loss. Since the occurrence of resistant fungi is difficult to detect prior to use, Adama Australia Pty. Ltd. accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of this product to control resistant fungi.

PRECAUTIONS
DO NOT use human flaggers/markers unless they are protected by engineering controls such as controlled cabs.
Re-entry period: DO NOT allow entry into treated areas until the spray has dried. When prior entry is necessary, wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist and a washable hat and chemical resistant gloves. Clothing must be laundered after each day’s use.

CAUTION
Export of treated produce
Growers should note that Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) or import tolerances do not exist in all markets for produce treated with SOPRANO. Additionally, some export markets have established MRLs different to those in Australia. If you are growing produce for export, please check with Adama Australia Pty. Ltd. or your produce exporter for the latest information on MRLs and import tolerances BEFORE using SOPRANO.
