GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Incorporation Requirements: Spalding Trifluralin 480 Selective Herbicide must be incorporated into the soil within 4 hours of application, except when using minimum tillage sowing equipment, where incorporation may occur up to 24 hours after application.

Mixing: This product is an emulsifiable concentrate that mixes readily with water. Add the recommended amount to the spray tank during filling and apply 70 – 450 L of water/ha (broadcast basis) depending on soil type. Ensure adequate agitation throughout the operation.

Conditions for Best Results: Thorough incorporation is essential. Soil should be well worked and free of weeds at the time of application. Factors such as high organic matter, excess clods, crop residues, or stones may reduce effectiveness. Trifluralin is volatile and may dissipate quickly, especially in hot conditions or warm moist soil.

Integrated Weed Management: Implement Integrated Weed Management techniques alongside Spalding Trifluralin 480 Selective Herbicide to reduce the weed seed bank in the soil. Failure to manage weed populations effectively may result in reduced control and potential herbicide resistance development.

Wild Oats Control: Germinating wild oat seeds on the soil surface will be controlled, so specific control requires shallow cultivation. Poor control may occur on self-mulching soils or where deep cultivation is practiced.

Compatibility: This product may be mixed with various herbicides and insecticides. However, conduct a small-scale compatibility test before tank mixing, as product formulations may vary.

Equipment Maintenance and Usage: Dedicate spray equipment to herbicides if possible. Otherwise, thoroughly rinse tanks, pumps, lines, and nozzles with clean water after each application. Spray Sure Spray Tank Cleaner is recommended for removing trifluralin stains.

Resistance Warning: Spalding Trifluralin 480 Selective Herbicide belongs to the dinitroaniline group of herbicides and is classified as a Group 3 herbicide. Resistance may develop in weed populations with repeated use. Monitor for resistance and implement appropriate weed management strategies.
