GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS (AGRICULTURAL APPLICATIONS):
MIXING/APPLICATION:
- Shake the container vigorously before pouring.
- Add the required quantity of Surefire Spectrum 200SC Insecticide to water in the spray vat while stirring or with agitators in motion.
- For Dilute Spraying (stone fruit), use a sprayer designed for high volumes of water, and apply to the point of run-off. Adjust water volume as the crop grows.
- For Concentrate Spraying (stone fruit), use a sprayer designed for concentrate spraying. Determine dilute spray volume, then calculate concentrate mixing rate based on concentration factor.
APPLICATION (COTTON):
- Thorough coverage of cotton plants is essential.
- Ground Application: Use hollow cone nozzles with a minimum spray volume of 100 L/ha. Droplet VMD of 150-180 microns is recommended.
- Aerial Application: Apply in a minimum spray volume of 25 L/ha. Droplet VMD of 120-150 microns is recommended.
- Do not apply under unfavorable environmental conditions that may reduce spray coverage.
APPLICATION (APPLES):
- Identify and mark apple trees with woolly aphid colonies during late summer or autumn.
- At green tip to petal fall, apply 1 litre of prepared Surefire Spectrum 200SC Insecticide mixture to moist soil around the base of the tree trunk.
- Ensure the mixture infiltrates the soil without runoff. Control weeds before application.
- Do not disturb or remove the soil around the trunk during the season.
NOTE ON ORNAMENTALS:
- Some ornamental plant species may be sensitive to chemical sprays.
- Test on a small number of plants first to ascertain their reaction before treating the entire crop.
COMPATIBILITY:
- Surefire Spectrum 200SC Insecticide is compatible with Antracol, Baycor, and Nitofol.
- Do not mix concentrates together. Test mixtures before using commercial quantities.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS (TERMITICIDE TREATMENTS):
PROGRAM STEPS:
- Locate and treat the termite nest if possible.
- Repair leaks and improve ventilation underneath structures.
- Eliminate sub-floor timber storage and waste.
- Apply soil treated zone.
- Advise against disturbing the treated zone.
- Continue efforts to locate and treat termite colonies.
- Perform post-treatment inspection to confirm success.
- Conduct ongoing inspections, at least annually.
MIXING:
- Clean spray equipment thoroughly before using Surefire Spectrum 200SC for the first time.
- Shake the container vigorously before pouring.
- Premix the required quantity of Surefire Spectrum 200SC with water in a clean bucket before adding it to the spray tank.
SOIL PREPARATION:
- Loosen soil in difficult wetting conditions before treatment.
- Use a wetting agent if necessary.
TREATMENT OF EXISTING BUILDINGS (TERMITES):
- Follow Australian Standard AS3660 Series for procedures.
- Ensure no gaps in treatment.
TREATMENT OF NEW BUILDINGS (TERMITES):
- Cannot be used for horizontal barrier-type treated zones before pouring a slab unless used in a certified reticulation system.
- Apply through the reticulation system after a 28-day period following slab placement.
RETICULATION SYSTEMS:
- Must establish and maintain complete and continuous treated zones.
- Must be certified as meeting AS3660 by experts.
THICKNESS OF TREATED ZONE:
- Minimum thickness recommended is 100 mm.
HORIZONTAL BARRIERS:
- Loosen soil to a depth of at least 80 mm and a width of 150 mm. Apply at least 1.5 L of spray solution per linear meter.
TREATMENT BENEATH CONCRETE SLABS AND PATHS:
- Increase application rate to at least 10 litres of spray solution per m² when applying horizontal barriers beneath concrete slabs.
- Use a slab injector fitted with a multidirectional tip for even distribution.
