GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS (AGRICULTURAL APPLICATIONS):

MIXING/APPLICATION:

  • Shake the container vigorously before pouring.
  • Add the required quantity of Surefire Spectrum 200SC Insecticide to water in the spray vat while stirring or with agitators in motion.

DILUTE SPRAYING (STONE FRUIT):

  • Use a sprayer designed for high water volumes up to the point of run-off.
  • Set up and operate the sprayer for even coverage throughout the crop canopy.
  • Apply water to cover the crop to the point of run-off.
  • Determine the required water volume by testing different volumes based on guidelines or expert advice.
  • Add the product per 100 L of water specified in the Directions for Use table. Spray to the point of run-off.
  • Adjust dilute spray volume, sprayer setup, and operation as the crop grows.

CONCENTRATE SPRAYING (STONE FRUIT):

  • Use a sprayer designed for concentrate spraying.
  • Set up and operate the sprayer for even coverage throughout the crop canopy.
  • Determine an appropriate dilute spray volume for the crop canopy.
  • Calculate the concentrate mixing rate using the concentration factor.
  • Adjust spray volume, product amount per 100 L of water, and sprayer setup as the crop grows.
  • Do not exceed the concentrate rate specified in Critical Comments.

APPLICATION (COTTON):

  • Ensure thorough coverage of cotton plants.
  • Calibrate equipment to achieve a minimum of 60 droplets/cm² on the target foliage.
  • Droplet Volume Median Diameter (VMD) for optimum performance is dependent on equipment and should be within specified ranges.
  • Do not apply under unfavorable environmental conditions that may reduce spray coverage.

GROUND APPLICATION (COTTON):

  • Use hollow cone nozzles with a minimum spray volume of 100 L/ha.
  • Droplet VMD of 150 - 180 microns is recommended.
  • Ensure multiple nozzles per row are of the same specification for equal dose contribution.
  • Avoid banded applications less than 100% beyond the 15 node crop stage.

AERIAL APPLICATION (COTTON):

  • Apply in a minimum spray volume of 25 L/ha.
  • Droplet VMD of 120 - 150 microns must be used.
  • Do not exceed a swath width of 20 to 22 m.
  • Do not use Ultra Low Volume (ULV) methods.

APPLICATION (APPLES):

  • Identify and mark apple trees with woolly aphid colonies during late summer or autumn.
  • At green tip to petal fall, apply 1 liter of the prepared Surefire Spectrum 200SC Insecticide mixture to moist soil around the tree trunk.
  • Ensure infiltration into the soil without runoff. Control weeds before application.
  • Do not disturb or remove the soil around the trunk during the season.

NOTE ON ORNAMENTALS:

  • Test Surefire Spectrum 200SC Insecticide on a small number of ornamental plants before treating the entire crop.
  • Some species and varieties may be sensitive to chemical sprays.

COMPATIBILITY:

  • Surefire Spectrum 200SC Insecticide is compatible with Antracol®, Baycor®, and Nitofol®.
  • Do not mix concentrates together; add each to the spray tank separately.
  • Test mixtures before using commercial quantities.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS (TERMITICIDE TREATMENTS):

PROGRAM STEPS:

  1. Locate and treat the termite nest where possible.
  2. Repair leaks and improve ventilation under structures.
  3. Ensure sub-floor areas are kept free of stored or waste timber.
  4. Apply the soil treated zone.
  5. Advise against disturbing the treated zone.
  6. Continue efforts to locate and treat the termite colony in the nest.
  7. Perform post-treatment inspection to confirm success.
  8. Conduct ongoing inspections, at least annually.

MIXING:

  • Thoroughly clean spray equipment before using Surefire Spectrum 200SC for the first time.
  • Shake the container vigorously before pouring.
  • Premix the required quantity of Surefire Spectrum 200SC with water in a clean bucket before adding it to the half-filled spray tank, then top up to full volume. Allow tank contents to be recirculated.

SOIL PREPARATION:

  • Loosen soil before treatment, especially in difficult wetting conditions.
  • Create a trench to confine the spray solution to the treatment area.
  • Add a wetting agent if necessary.

THICKNESS OF TREATED ZONE:

  • Minimum recommended thickness of any soil treated zone is 100 mm.

TREATMENT OF EXISTING BUILDINGS (TERMITES):

  • Follow Australian Standard AS3660 Series for procedures.
  • Ensure no gaps in treatment.

TREATMENT OF NEW BUILDINGS (TERMITES):

  • Surefire Spectrum 200SC cannot be used for horizontal barrier-type treated zones prior to pouring a slab unless used in a certified reticulation system.
  • Initial under-slab treatment through the reticulation system should occur after a 28-day period following slab placement but not more than 60 days after placement.

RETICULATION SYSTEMS (TERMITES):

  • Must establish and maintain complete and continuous treated zones.
  • Reticulation systems must be certified as meeting AS3660 by suitable persons or organizations with relevant expertise.
  • The system must allow the application of a minimum 100 mm thick treated zone.
  • Communication with the builder and sub-contractor is recommended to ensure proper installation according to specifications.

ALTERATIONS TO BUILDINGS:

  • Drainage, ventilation, and timber/soil contact problems need to be addressed before treatment to increase effectiveness.
