MIXING

  • STAROXY 400 may be mixed with water or diesel.
  • Mix only sufficient chemical for each day’s use and avoid storing.
  • Mixing in Water:
    • Half fill the spray tank with water and add the required quantity of STAROXY 400.
    • Complete filling, agitate continuously for thorough mixing before and during application.
  • Mixing in Diesel:
    • Half fill the tank with diesel, add the required quantity of STAROXY 400.
    • Add the remainder of the diesel, agitate or shake to mix contents.
  • Tank mixtures:
    • Add wettable powder or dry flowable formulations first, followed by suspension concentrates, water-soluble salts, and emulsifiable concentrate formulations (STAROXY 400).
    • Add spraying oils and surfactants last.

OILS AND SURFACTANTS

  • Oils:
    • Use Uptake Spraying Oil at 500 mL/100 L of spray mix. Adjust for lower volumes if specified.
  • Surfactants (wetters):
    • Use 100% concentrate non-ionic surfactant (e.g., BS1000®) at 100 mL/100 L where required.

ATRAZINE

  • AVOID USING HARD WATER WHEREVER POSSIBLE.
  • If unavoidable, add CALGON* water conditioning agent at 100 g/100 L water before adding herbicide.
  • Agitation is crucial when mixing STAROXY 400 and ATRAZINE.
  • Vigorously agitate tank mixes continuously during mixing and application.
  • DO NOT let the mixture stand without agitation for more than 2 hours.

TOPIK 240 EC

  • Use Uptake Spraying Oil with STAROXY 400 + Topik 240 EC tank-mixes at 500 mL/100 L.
  • DO NOT mix STAROXY 400 with Topik 240 EC if grass weeds are not actively growing.

GLYPHOSATE 450

  • Follow Glyphosate 450 label for rates and adjuvants in tank mixes with STAROXY 400.
  • DO NOT use Glyphosate 450 at less than 1.2 L/ha in tank mixes for specific grass species.

APPLICATION METHODS and WATER RATES

  • Broadcast Application (Cropping, Pasture, Fallow):
    • Ground application (Boom) with flat nozzles at 200-300 kPa, ensuring double overlap.
    • Ground directed application (Dropper nozzles) for specific growth stages.
    • Aerial application in minimum 35 L/ha water (60 L/ha in sugarcane), with VMD of 250 – 350 microns.
  • WOODY WEED SITUATIONS:
    • Weeds must be actively growing.
    • High Volume Application:
      • Hand Gun or Knapsack with recommended mix for full coverage.
    • Low Volume, High Concentrate Application:
      • Drench Gun or Gas-Powered Gun for uniform application.
    • Basal Bark and Cut Stump Application:
      • Basal Bark: Spray or paint around the stem base.
      • Cut Stump: Apply liberally to freshly cut stump.

CLEANING SPRAY EQUIPMENT

  • Rinse thoroughly after water or diesel-based sprays.
