GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Sunphosate 450 SL Herbicide

Sunphosate 450 SL Herbicide is a non-volatile, non-selective, water-soluble liquid herbicide with non-selective herbicidal activity. It is absorbed by plant foliage and green stems, moving through the plant from the point of contact to the root system. Effects may take 3–7 days for annual weeds or 2–3 weeks for perennial weeds to become apparent, especially under cool, cloudy conditions.

  • Weed Control:

    • Controls emerged weeds only with no residual weed control.
    • Apply to weeds with at least one true leaf (broadleaf) or two leaves (grasses) for sufficient herbicide uptake.
  • Withholding Period:

    • No withholding period for grazing stock is required.
    • Recommended delaying grazing for one day after treatment of annual weeds or 7 days if perennial weeds are present.
  • Toxic Plants Warning:

    • Some plants (e.g., Soursob, variegated thistle) may be naturally toxic to stock. Do not allow grazing until treated plants have completely browned.
  • Weather and Rainfall:

    • Weeds should be actively growing at the time of treatment.
    • Avoid treating weeds under poor growing conditions or after rainfall within 6 hours.
    • Rainfall occurring within 2 hours may reduce efficacy.
    • Rain fastness may be reduced under low light intensity or darkness.
  • Crop Establishment:

    • Suitable for controlling emerged weeds before crop establishment.
    • Recommended for use prior to sowing any crop (edible or non-edible), except transplanting tomato seedlings.
  • Mixing Instructions:

    • Mixes readily with water.
    • Do not use water containing soil or hard water with calcium salts.
    • Do not mix, store, or apply in galvanized steel or unlined steel containers.
    • Use stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, fiberglass, plastic, or plastic-lined containers.
    • Thoroughly rinse equipment after use to prevent corrosion.
  • Tank Mixtures/Compatibility:

    • Compatible with certain herbicides, insecticides, and additives.
    • Tank mix with recommended products following label directions.
  • Surfactant Addition:

    • May use Spraymate Liase (ammonium sulfate) to alleviate adverse conditions in water.
    • Spraymate Liase may improve performance under adverse environmental conditions.
    • Surfactants like Spraymate LI 700 or non-ionic surfactant may be added to improve weed control.
  • Application:

    • Use boom equipment with recommended spray volumes (25-100 L/ha).
    • Aerial equipment may be used in pasture or fallow situations.
    • Adjust application for hilly terrain or hot conditions.
  • Caution:

    • Direct spray contact or drift may cause severe injury or destruction of any growing crop or desirable plants.
    • Clean all equipment after use to prevent herbicide residues.
