GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

Tal-Ken 100 Insecticide/Miticide:

  • A contact and residual insecticide/miticide.
  • Use as a protective treatment at regular intervals or as a knockdown treatment for existing pests.
  • Best results when applied before pest populations reach damaging levels.
  • Not suitable for Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs with established mite or insect predators or parasites.

NOTICE:

  • Adhere to the Summer Crop Insecticide strategy for Helicoverpa (=Heliothis) armigera resistance in Northern NSW and Qld.
  • Non-compliance may lead to widespread resistance affecting future summer cropping viability.

INSECTICIDE RESISTANT WARNING:

  • Group 3A insecticide (Tal-Ken 100).
  • Resistance may occur due to genetic variability.
  • Kenso Corporation accepts no liability for losses due to Tal-Ken 100's failure in controlling resistant insects.
  • Subject to specific resistance management strategies.

Application:

  • Apply by ground rig or aircraft, ensuring thorough coverage. Avoid fog or mist application.

1. Tree and Vine Crops:

Mixing/Application:

DILUTE SPRAYING:

  • Use a sprayer for high water volumes up to runoff.
  • Set up for even coverage; apply enough water to cover the crop to runoff.
  • Adjust based on guidelines or advice.
  • Add specified product amount per 100L water from Direction for Use table.
  • Spray to runoff; adjust as the crop grows.

CONCENTRATE SPRAYING:

  • Use a sprayer for concentrate spraying.
  • Set up for even coverage; determine dilute spray volume.
  • Calculate concentrate mixing rate using concentration factor.
  • Adjust as the crop grows.
  • Consult industry guidelines and undergo training for concentrate spraying.

OTHER CROPS: Ground Application:

  • Use a fine spray, depending on the crop (e.g., 50-200L/ha for cereals, canola). Aerial Application:
  • Use at least 20L/ha of total spray solution.
  • Spray during cooler times, avoiding calm conditions.
  • Employ a spray drift minimization strategy.

Monitoring:

  • Post-emergence monitoring of citrus leaf-eating weevil population.
  • Treat if 25 beetles or more are recorded in consecutive counts.

Mixing:

  • Add the required Tal-Ken 100 quantity to water, mix thoroughly, and maintain agitation.

Compatibility:

  • Compatible with various fungicides.
  • Additional surfactant may be necessary for hard-to-wet plants or high-volume situations.

Re-entry:

  • Do not re-enter until spray deposits have dried, unless wearing suitable protective clothing.

Protection of Wildlife, Livestock, and Environment:

  • Dangerous to fish, aquatic organisms, and bees.
  • Avoid contamination of dams, waterways, and drains.
  • Do not spray plants in flower when bees are foraging. Spray in the early morning when bees are not actively foraging.
