General Instructions for GENFARM TRIALLATE GOLD 500 SELECTIVE HERBICIDE

Weed Control: GENFARM TRIALLATE GOLD 500 SELECTIVE HERBICIDE provides 6 to 8 weeks control of wild oats when the seedbed is moist during their emergence. However, under very dry surface conditions (top 2cm), wild oats may not be effectively controlled. The herbicide will not control emerged wild oats.

Crop Safety: Reduced emergence of cereals and linseed may occur if seed is placed in the treated soil layer. Plant cereal crops at a depth of no greater than 5 to 7 cm. Be cautious of overspraying headlands or corners, as it may result in crop damage. On heavy clay soils, crop thinning may occur in wheel tracks. Environmental conditions affecting emergence or early crop growth may increase the risk of injury, especially when tank-mixing with other pre-emergence herbicides. Follow label directions, restraints, plant-back periods, and safety instructions for tank-mix products.

Soil Persistence and Following Crops: Under prolonged and extremely dry conditions, GENFARM TRIALLATE GOLD 500 may persist for several months, potentially causing damage to field oats and sorghum.

Mixing: GENFARM TRIALLATE GOLD 500 is an Emulsifiable Concentrate that readily mixes with water. Add the required amount to half of the needed water in the spray tank, mix thoroughly, and then add the remaining water.

Application: Apply to soil in friable condition for uniform incorporation to a depth of 2 to 4 cm. Ensure the soil is free of large clods (>75 mm) and does not have crop or weed residue that interferes with the soil flow through planting equipment, providing full soil disturbance. Emerged wild oats should be controlled either by prior cultivation/application of a knockdown herbicide or by tank-mixing a knockdown herbicide with GENFARM TRIALLATE GOLD 500. Apply by ground sprayer in 30 to 100 litres of water per hectare using a boomspray fitted with flat fan nozzles. Use spraying pressure of approximately 200-240kPa. Avoid application under strong and/or gusty wind conditions. DO NOT apply by aircraft.

Incorporation: Two-pass incorporation provides superior weed control on heavier textured soils.

  • GENFARM TRIALLATE GOLD 500 may be initially incorporated in a cultivated seedbed with heavy 5-row harrows or a tyned cultivator. Final incorporation with a combine or airseeder/cultivator is essential for maximum weed control.
  • On soils in friable condition, GENFARM TRIALLATE GOLD 500 may be incorporated with the planting operation within 24 hours following application onto a dry soil surface or up to 6 hours on moist surface soil. Poor incorporation may result from wet soil at planting. For shallow-sown legume and oil-seed crops, complete incorporation by cultivation to a depth of 5 cm must be done before planting. Do not operate incorporation equipment at greater than 5 to 7 cm depth.

Compatibility: GENFARM TRIALLATE GOLD 500 is compatible with various herbicides including Chlorsulfuron 900, Triasulfuron 750, Trifluralin 480, Oryzalin/Trifluralin 250, Glyphosate, Sulfosulfuron 750, S-Metolachlor 960, Terbuthylazine 875, Diuron 900, Simazine, Atrazine, Paraquat 250, Diquat/Paraquat 250, Pyroxasulfone, S-Metolachlor/Prosulfocarb 920, Trifluralin 600, Dimethenamid-P 720, and non-ionic surfactants.

Resistance Warning: GENFARM TRIALLATE GOLD 500 SELECTIVE HERBICIDE belongs to Group 15 herbicides and the thiocarbamate group. Some naturally occurring weed biotypes may be resistant to it and other Group 15 herbicides due to normal genetic variability. The herbicide may not control these resistant weeds, and Nutrien Ag Solutions Limited accepts no liability for losses resulting from this failure.

Precautions:

  • Re-entry: Do not enter treated areas until the spray has dried, unless wearing cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist (or equivalent clothing) and chemical-resistant gloves. Clothing must be laundered after each day's use.
  • Protection of Crops, Native, and Non-target Plants: Avoid application under weather conditions or from equipment causing spray drift onto nearby susceptible plants, crops, or pastures.
  • Protection of Livestock, Fish, Crustaceans, and Environment: The product is dangerous to fish and very toxic to aquatic life. Do not contaminate wetlands or watercourses with the herbicide or used containers.

Storage and Disposal:

  • Store in the closed, original container in a cool, well-ventilated area. Do not store for prolonged periods in direct sunlight.
  • Triple-rinse containers before disposal and add rinsings to the spray tank. Do not dispose of undiluted chemicals on site. If recycling, replace the cap and return clean containers to a recycler or designated collection point.
  • If not recycling, break, crush, or puncture and deliver empty packaging to an approved waste management facility. If such a facility is unavailable, bury the empty packaging 500 mm below the surface in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for this purpose, complying with relevant local, state, or territory government regulations. Do not burn empty containers or product.
  • For drumMUSTER containers: This container can be recycled if clean, dry, and free of visible residues with the drumMUSTER logo visible. Triple-rinse container for disposal. Dispose of rinsate or any undiluted chemical according to state legislative requirements. Wash outside of the container and the cap. Store cleaned container in a sheltered place with the cap removed. It will then be acceptable for recycling at any drumMUSTER collection or similar container management program site. The cap should not be replaced but may be taken separately.
  • For REFILLABLE containers: Empty contents fully into application equipment. Close all valves and return to the point of supply for refill or storage.

Safety Directions: The product is harmful if inhaled or swallowed and will irritate the eyes and skin. Repeated exposure may cause allergic disorders. Avoid inhaling vapor or spray mist and contact with eyes and skin. Wear appropriate protective clothing, including cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist, a washable hat, elbow-length PVC gloves, goggles, and a half face-piece respirator during handling and application. Wash hands after use and launder contaminated clothing, gloves, goggles, and respirator after each day's use.
