GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

AC Tussel Selective Herbicide should be applied only when weeds are actively growing.

Mixing:

  1. Fill the spray tank to one quarter full.
  2. Add AC Tussel Selective Herbicide while simultaneously adding water to make up the final spray volume.
  3. Pour AC Tussel Selective Herbicide into the stream of incoming water.
  4. Ensure good agitation at the time of adding AC Tussel Selective Herbicide.
  5. Add the required amount of Hasten* or Uptake* oil just before the tank is full of water with the agitators in motion.

Mixing Order: Ensure proper mixing order to avoid reactions:

  1. Water conditioners or buffers
  2. Water dispersible granules (WG)
  3. Wettable powders (WP)
  4. Flowable or suspension concentrates (SC)
  5. Emulsifiable concentrates (EC) (AC Tussel Selective Herbicide)
  6. Water-based or soluble concentrates
  7. Oils and wetters - e.g., Hasten, BS 1000

It's crucial to fully dissolve each component before adding the next to prevent mixing problems.

Minimum Oil Volumes:

  • Minimum oil volumes depend on the type of oil used.
  • For oils applied at 1% v/v, DO NOT apply less than 500 mL oil/ha.
  • For oils applied at 0.5% v/v (e.g., Uptake, Hasten), DO NOT apply less than 250 mL oil/ha.

Cleaning Spray Equipment:

  • After using AC Tussel Selective Herbicide, empty the tank completely and drain the whole system.
  • Wash inside the tank thoroughly, drain the tank, and clean filters in the tank, pump, line, and nozzles.
  • Rinse with clean water and circulate through the pump, lines, hoses, and nozzles. Repeat rinsing twice.
  • To decontaminate, use a liquid alkali detergent (e.g., SURF*, OMO*, DRIVE*) and flush the system with clean water.

Application:

  • Ground Application: Boom spray with flat fan nozzles. Apply using 50 to 110 L water per hectare.
  • Aircraft Application: Use 20 to 30 L water per hectare and spray at 2 m to 3 m above the crop. Apply a MEDIUM-COARSE spray.

Compatibility:

  • When applied with compatible herbicides, use a recommended oil.
  • Use a 100% non-ionic surfactant when mixing with diflufenican based products.
  • Compatible with diclofop methyl.
  • Some broadleaf herbicides may reduce AC Tussel Selective Herbicide effectiveness or cause crop yellowing; refer to the compatibility chart for details.
  • Incompatible with Diuron, triasulfuron, bromoxynil + dicamba + MCPA formulations, and all 2,4-D formulations. Apply separately.

Resistant Weeds Warning:

  • GROUP A HERBICIDE: AC Tussel Selective Herbicide is a member of the aryloxyphenoxypropionate (“fop”) group of herbicides.
  • It inhibits fat (lipid) synthesis with the mode of action being inhibitors of acetyl CoA carboxylase.
  • For weed resistance management, it is a Group A herbicide.
  • Resistance may occur due to normal genetic variability. Resistant weeds won't be controlled, and detection is challenging.
  • Axichem Pty Limited accepts no liability for losses due to the failure of AC Tussel Selective Herbicide.
  • Conduct a resistance test before use on weed populations resistant to "grass-specific" herbicides.
  • Avoid making more than one application of a Group A herbicide with the inhibition of fat (lipid) synthesis mode of action to a crop in the same season.
  • Incorporate recommendations into an Integrated Weed Management (IWM) Program. Consult agricultural authorities for guidance.
