GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
ULTRO 900 WG Herbicide is effective pre-emergently for selective weed control in various crops, primarily absorbed via the roots. Adequate rainfall or irrigation within 2-3 weeks of application ensures activation and weed uptake. Avoid flood irrigation to prevent poor weed control and crop damage. Dry conditions prior to sowing with minimal rainfall afterward may lead to variable results. Dense weed populations may require a pre-emergent ULTRO application alongside a post-emergent herbicide.
ACCELERATED MICROBIAL DEGRADATION WARNING
ULTRO degrades primarily via microbial activity, potentially leading to accelerated breakdown and reduced efficacy on weeds. To mitigate this:
Apply ULTRO once every four years with a three-year use-free interval.
Rotate ULTRO use with a different mode of action herbicide, like Propyzamide.
Avoid applications if accelerated degradation is suspected, contacting an Adama Australia representative for guidance.
MIXING
Avoid mixing near water sources. Half-fill the tank with water, add ULTRO slowly while agitating, and maintain agitation throughout. Do not let the solution stand before spraying.
APPLICATION
Sow crop seeds below the ULTRO band to prevent establishment issues. Damage may occur with high ULTRO® rates on light soils. Heavy rainfall post-application and before crop establishment can reduce establishment and early crop vigor. Avoid overlaps and spray corners. ULTRO® may not control emerged or about-to-emerge weeds.
Incorporation By Sowing (IBS)
Apply up to 7 days pre-planting and mechanically incorporate using minimum-tillage equipment. High trash levels can reduce weed control. Maintain a slow to moderate speed to avoid deep furrows.
Post Sowing Pre-Emergence (PSPE) in Chickpeas
Apply within 2 days of sowing on relatively flat soil, requiring rainfall within 2-3 weeks for activation.
Ground Application
Use medium spray quality or larger and apply 50-150 liters of water per hectare. Calibrate equipment for accurate application.
Aerial Application
Use coarse spray quality or larger, applying a minimum of 30 liters of water per hectare. Ensure upwind movement of markers before aircraft passes overhead.
COMPATIBILITY
Contact a local ADAMA representative for compatibility information and test mixtures for efficacy and crop safety.
Cleaning Equipment
Thoroughly rinse equipment after use, disposing of rinsings away from waterways, drainage, and desirable vegetation.
CROP ROTATION RECOMMENDATIONS
ULTRO primarily degrades via microbial activity. Residues under conditions unfavorable for breakdown can affect susceptible follow-up crops.
