GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
-
Product Registration: Zanoctine is not registered in all countries overseas. Check with a Colin Campbell (Chemicals) Pty Ltd representative before treating produce destined for export.
-
Fungicide Resistance Strategy:
- Zanoctine Liquid Fungicide is a Group M7 fungicide for fungicide resistance management.
- Some naturally occurring individual fungi resistant to Zanoctine and other Group M7 fungicides may exist through normal genetic variability in any fungal population.
- Resistant fungi may dominate the population with repeated use, leading to a reduction in efficacy and possible yield loss.
- Colin Campbell (Chemicals) Pty. Ltd. accepts no liability for losses resulting from the failure of Zanoctine to control resistant fungi.
- AFRAC anti-resistance strategy for post-harvest dip:
- Handle fruit carefully to minimize potential infection sites caused by injury.
- Promptly remove diseased fruit from the field and packing house, and destroy it.
- Dip fruit promptly after harvest.
- Avoid storing fruit in the packing house – move it through the packing house quickly.
- Dispose of mouldy fungicide-treated fruit at harvest – do not bring it into the packing house.
- For the last pre-harvest spray, use a fungicide with a different mode of action than the one planned for use as a post-harvest dip.
- Rotate to use as many different modes of action as possible if alternatives are available.
- Remove mouldy fruit from storage and isolate it from other fruit.
- Do not move fruit between packing houses, especially mouldy fruit.
-
Mixing:
- Add the required amount of product/s to the water in the dip tank with thorough mixing between each addition.
- Agitate the solution during the dipping process.
- Dip ingredients MUST NOT be mixed together in concentrated form; add separately to the full volume of water in the dip tank.
- To restore the original volume in the dip tank, add the required water and then the appropriate amounts of non-ionic wetting agent and Zanoctine.
- Replace dip when dirt begins to accumulate.
- Ensure the temperature of the fruit and dip solution is the same.
-
Preparing Spray (Tomatoes only – non-recirculating spray):
- Water should be at ambient temperature during application.
- Apply as a very fine spray using hollow cone nozzles.
- Apply sufficient spray to wet the entire surface of the fruit without causing significant runoff.
PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS AND ENVIRONMENT:
- Dangerous to fish. DO NOT contaminate streams, rivers, or waterways with the chemical or used containers. Do not discharge waste liquid into streams.
STORAGE AND DISPOSAL:
- Store in the closed, original container in a dry, cool, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight.
- Store in a locked room or place away from children, animals, food, feedstuffs, seed, and fertilizers.
- Triple or preferably pressure rinse containers before disposal. Add rinsings to the spray tank.
- Do not dispose of undiluted chemicals on-site. If recycling, replace the cap and return clean containers to the recycler or designated collection point.
- If not recycling, break, crush, or puncture and bury empty containers in a local authority landfill. If no landfill is available, bury empty containers below 500mm in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for this purpose, clear of waterways, desirable vegetation, and tree roots. Empty containers and products should not be burnt.
