General Information

Hakko is an insect growth regulator (IGR) insecticide manufactured by Insecticides (India) Limited. It contains buprofezin as the active ingredient and is formulated as a 25% suspension concentrate (SC). Hakko is a selective insecticide that specifically targets nymphal stages of sucking pests, disrupting their growth and development, effectively controlling their populations.

Mode of Action

Hakko acts by interfering with the chitin biosynthesis process in insect pests. Chitin is a crucial component of the insect's exoskeleton, and its disruption prevents molting and proper development, leading to nymphal mortality and population control.

Application

Hakko is recommended for use in a variety of crops, including rice, cotton, vegetables, and fruits. It is primarily applied as a foliar spray to target nymphal stages of sucking pests. The recommended dosage and application method vary depending on the target crop and pest.

Precautions

  • Wear protective clothing, gloves, and mask when handling Hakko.
  • Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
  • Do not apply near water bodies or where there is a risk of runoff.
  • Follow the recommended dosage and application instructions.
  • Store Hakko in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.
