Metro is a broad-spectrum insecticide manufactured by Insecticides (India) Limited, a leading agrochemical company in India. It is a microencapsulated formulation containing lambda-cyhalothrin as the active ingredient. Metro is effective against a wide range of chewing and sucking pests that attack various crops, including cotton, paddy, vegetables, and fruits.

Mode of Action

Lambda-cyhalothrin belongs to the pyrethroid class of insecticides. It acts as a neurotoxin, disrupting the nervous system of insects by interfering with sodium channels. This leads to rapid paralysis and death of the target pests.

Application

Metro is recommended for foliar application, meaning it is sprayed directly onto the leaves and stems of the crop. It can be applied using various spraying equipment, such as knapsack sprayers, hand-operated sprayers, or power sprayers.

Precautions

• Wear protective clothing, gloves, and a mask while handling and applying Metro.

• Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

• Do not apply during windy conditions to prevent drift.

• Follow the recommended dosage and application instructions.

• Do not contaminate water sources or apply near beehives.

Doses

The recommended dose of Metro varies depending on the crop and target pest. For cotton and paddy, the general dose is 150-200 ml per acre. For vegetables and fruits, refer to specific crop recommendations.
