Product Description

Pymet is a broad-spectrum systemic insecticide that effectively controls a wide range of sucking and chewing insects, including aphids, jassids, whiteflies, thrips, and scale insects, in various crops, including vegetables, fruits, and ornamentals. It contains 50% pymetrozine as its active ingredient and is a water-dispersible granule (WG) formulation. It is easy to mix with water and can be applied to various crops as a foliar spray.

Mode of Action

Pymetrozine is a pyridine insecticide that disrupts the nervous system of insects. It acts as a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor agonist, mimicking the action of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter involved in nerve impulse transmission. This leads to overstimulation of the nervous system, resulting in paralysis and death of the affected insect.

Application Instructions

Pymet can be applied as a foliar spray to actively growing plants. The amount of insecticide that you need to use will depend on the type of pests you are targeting, the severity of the pest infestation, and the crop you are treating.

To apply Pymet, follow these instructions:

  1. Shake the container well before use.
  2. Mix the required amount of insecticide with water in a sprayer.
  3. Apply the solution evenly to the affected area, ensuring that the foliage of the plants is thoroughly wetted.
  4. Avoid applying Pymet during windy conditions or when rain is expected within 6 hours of application.

Precautions

  • Do not apply Pymet to stressed or damaged plants.
  • Do not apply Pymet to crops that are wet.
  • Wait at least 21 days after applying Pymet before harvesting any treated crops.
  • Keep Pymet out of reach of children and pets.
