GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: Albaugh Binder Insecticide
Overview:
- Type: Contact and residual insecticide/miticide.
- Application: Can be used preventively at regular intervals or as a knockdown treatment.
- Optimal Use: Apply before pest populations reach damaging levels.
Compatibility:
- Not Suitable for IPM Programs: Avoid use in Integrated Pest Management programs where mite or other insect predators are effective.
Application Methods:
- Ground or Aircraft Application: Suitable for both ground rig and aircraft application.
- Coverage: Thorough coverage is crucial for effective control.
- Avoid Fog or Mist Application.
Dilute Spraying:
- Use high volumes of water up to run-off.
- Set up sprayer for even coverage, applying sufficient water to cover the crop.
- Adjust water volume based on testing or expert advice.
- Add the specified amount of product per 100L of water.
- Change spray volume and setup as the crop grows.
Concentrate Spraying:
- Use a sprayer designed for concentrate spraying.
- Achieve even coverage with a chosen water volume.
- Determine dilute spray volume and calculate concentrate mixing rate.
- Adjust settings and volumes as the crop grows.
- Follow industry guidelines and Best Practices for concentrate spraying.
Ground Application:
- Apply as a fine spray with droplet size of 150 to 200 microns.
- Application volume depends on the crop type.
- Suggested volumes for various crops provided.
- Follow critical comments for specific crops.
Aerial Application:
- Use at least 20L/ha total spray volume.
- Spray during cooler parts of the day or night.
- Avoid spraying in calm conditions; prefer a crosswind.
- Employ a spray drift minimization strategy.
Monitoring:
- For Citrus leaf eating weevil populations, start monitoring in mid-October.
- If 25 beetles or more are recorded in consecutive counts, treatment is required.
Mixing:
- Add the required quantity of Albaugh Binder Insecticide to water and mix thoroughly.
- Maintain agitation during mixing and application.
- Contains a surfactant; additional surfactant may be necessary in specific situations.
Resistance Warning:
- Group 3A insecticide; manage resistance with specific strategies.
- Some insect biotypes resistant to Albaugh Binder Insecticide may exist.

- Follow local resistance management strategies; consult with suppliers or agricultural department agronomists.
NOTICE:
- Helicoverpa (=Heliothis) armigera resistance in Northern NSA and Qld.
- Adhere to the Summer Crop Insecticide strategy to contain pyrethroid resistance.
- Failure to observe the strategy may result in widespread resistance affecting the future viability of summer cropping.
