DELETE Tobacco Sucker Control Agent is a carefully balanced combination of active ingredients and wetting agents to be used for the control of sucker growth on Flue Cured and
Cigar Tobacco. The concentrated product is diluted with water to form a creamy emulsion which is applied as a coarse spray. The emulsion is effective only when it comes in direct contact with the suckers; therefore, the material is applied so that maximum contact is made with the suckers.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT: For local recommendations, consult your provincial agricultural extension office.

WHEN TO APPLY:
DELETE Tobacco Sucker Control Agent can be applied either before or after topping. Best results are usually obtained by spraying the tobacco with DELETE Tobacco Sucker Control
Agent before topping at the mid-button stage and then topping the tobacco at any time after spraying but usually within one week, removing any suckers that you may have missed. If you top the tobacco before spraying, remove any suckers of 2.5 cm in length as you top, and apply
DELETE Tobacco Sucker Control Agent within two days after topping. Since tobacco will react to the missing top by rapid growth, it is advisable to use extra care when applying DELETE
Tobacco Sucker Control Agent in the time period 8 hours to 36 hours after topping.
Because DELETE Tobacco Sucker Control Agent is a contact type agent, it is necessary to straighten any plants that are leaning so that the emulsion (mixture) flows down the stalk evenly and contacts each sucker.
DELETE Tobacco Sucker Control Agent can be applied any time during the day. For best results, it is recommended that you wait until the dew dries before spraying. Do not spray after the leaves begin to close in the evening or when the temperature drops below 18-21 degrees C. Because the underside of the leaves may be injured by contact with DELETE Tobacco Sucker Control
Agent, and because of the difficulty of contacting each sucker. Do not apply when the wind is high enough to turn the top leaves over. Do not apply during rain or when plants are wet. If, however, it rains after DELETE Tobacco Sucker Control Agent has been on the plants for over one hour, you should not have to apply again. Certain spraying conditions may affect the results you get with DELETE Tobacco Sucker Control Agent. Potential leaf injury may exist when there is excessive heat or humidity. Avoid spraying too soon after irrigation or rain when the plants will be more tender. If in doubt, spray a small amount (4 rows) and then check before proceeding.
You will spot any possible injury in ½ an hour by close inspection of the leaves. During prolonged periods of high heat and humidity or under other conditions which might favor the spread of hollow stalk or stem rot diseases, delay application of DELETE Tobacco Sucker Control Agent until these conditions pass.

HOW TO APPLY:
The diluted emulsion is most easily prepared by adding a small amount of water, then the required amount of DELETE Tobacco Sucker Control Agent, to your spray tank and then adding the remainder of the water. In order to obtain the best results, it is important to follow these mixing instructions, thus adding the major amount of water to the DELETE Tobacco Sucker
Control Agent rather than the DELETE Tobacco Sucker Control Agent to a large quantity of water.
Proper agitation is essential for good results. Even if you have continuous recirculation, mix the solution thoroughly with hoe, rake handle, or tobacco stick before spraying. If you stop during spraying, be sure to agitate solution before starting up again.
When applied with power equipment, three full cone nozzles per row should be used (TG-5 in middle, TG-3's on each side of the TG-5 is the recommended arrangement). The TG-5 should be directed downward over the center of the row and each TG-3 should be 23 cm on either side directed at or slightly above the top of the stalk. The diluted DELETE Tobacco Sucker Control
Agent should be applied to the tobacco as a coarse spray from a height of 30-35 cm above the average point where the tobacco will be, or has been, topped. It is recommended that boom pressure be kept at approximately 100kPa and should not exceed 120kPa. By using the recommended spray tips, spraying at 100kPa, and operating at a tractor speed of 5.5 km/h, you will apply approximately 450L of diluted emulsion per hectare of tobacco.

Field Sprayer Application:
DO NOT apply during periods of dead calm. Avoid application of this product when winds are gusty. DO NOT apply with spray droplets smaller than the American Society of Agricultural
Engineers (ASAE) coarse classification. Boom height must be 60 cm or less above the crop. DO NOT apply by air.

HOW MUCH TO APPLY:
If you spray before topping - DELETE Tobacco Sucker Control Agent should be diluted at the rate of 17L (Maritimes 14L) in 450L of water. This is enough DELETE Tobacco Sucker Control
Agent solution to treat one hectare.
If you spray after topping - DELETE Tobacco Sucker Control Agent should be diluted at the rate of 20L (Maritimes 17L) in 450L of water. This is enough DELETE Tobacco Sucker Control
Agent solution to treat one hectare.
These before topping and after topping recommended rates will effectively control suckers under most conditions. Slight adjustments in rate of application may be required due to special spraying conditions, spray pressures, or time of application. Your DELETE Tobacco Sucker Control Agent
