DIRECTIONS FOR USE - GENERAL


If not indicated in recommendations below, Diazinon 50EC should be mixed with sufficient water to assure thorough coverage. Best control is obtained when application is made at the first sign of insects.
Diazinon 50 EC is an emulsifiable insecticide which requires minimum agitation during application. Diazinon 50 EC is compatible with most other insecticides or fungicides.

USE RESTRICTIONS
1. Do not spray animals or humans.
2. Do not store near food or feed.
3. Toxic to fish and wildlife. Highly toxic to bees exposed to direct treatment or to residues on crops. Birds feeding in treated areas may be killed.
4. Do not contaminate any body of water.
DO NOT apply this product directly to freshwater habitats (such as lakes, rivers, sloughs, ponds, prairie potholes, creeks, marshes, streams, reservoirs and wetlands) or estuarine/marine habitats.
DO NOT contaminate irrigation or drinking water supplies or aquatic habitats by cleaning of equipment or disposal of wastes.
Field sprayer application: DO NOT apply during periods of dead calm. Avoid application of this product when winds are gusty. DO NOT apply with spray droplets smaller than the American Society of Agricultural Engineers coarse classification. Boom height must be 60 cm or less above the crop or ground.
DO NOT apply by air.
Apply only when the potential for drift to areas of human habitation or areas of human activity (houses, cottages, schools and recreational areas) is minimal. Take into consideration wind speed, wind direction, temperature, application equipment and sprayer settings.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE – FRUIT CROPS
BLACKBERRIES, LOGANBERRIES, RASPBERRIES - Uses on blackberry, loganberry and raspberry are limited for control of raspberry crown borer only and application at the time when new canes reach 10 cm height.
Raspberry Crown Borer: Use 4.5 litres in 4000 litres of water per hectare. Drench crown area using 0.6 litre of mix per plant as new canes reach 10 cm height. DO NOT apply more than one application per year. DO NOT apply after bloom.


DIRECTIONS FOR USE – VEGETABLE CROPS
ONIONS - Use on onion is limited for control of onion maggot larvae only and application in furrow at the planting or sowing time. Onion Maggot: Use 20-37.5 mL per 100 metres of row. Apply to the seed furrow at planting or sowing time. For liquid formulations, use sufficient water to drench the furrow. Use lower rate on poor soils, higher on organic soils. DO NOT apply more than one application per year.
RUTABAGA, TURNIPS - Uses on rutabaga and turnip are limited for control of root maggot larvae only and application at the seedling stage. Root Maggots: SEEDING TREATMENT: Use 2.25 litres in 1000 litres of water per hectare. Apply as a drench in a narrow band directly over row when seedlings are up. Make a second application as a drench after thinning. DO NOT apply more than two applications per year. Direct spray to base of plant. Drench thoroughly plant and surrounding soil. Do not apply within 14 days of harvest.
