DIRECTIONS FOR USE

As this product is not registered for the control of pests in aquatic systems,
DO NOT use to control aquatic pests.
DO NOT contaminate irrigation or drinking water supplies or aquatic habitats by cleaning of equipment or disposal of wastes.
 
BUFFER ZONES:
Use of the following spray methods or equipment DO NOT require a buffer zone:
handheld or backpack sprayer and spot treatment.
When a tank mixture is used, consult the labels of the tank-mix partners and observe the largest (most restrictive) buffer zone of the products involved in the tank mixture.
Field sprayer application: DO NOT apply during periods of dead calm. Avoid application of this product when winds are gusty. DO NOT apply with spray droplets smaller than the American Society of Agricultural Engineers (ASAE) fine classification. Boom height must be 60 cm or less above the crop or ground.
Airblast application: DO NOT apply during periods of dead calm. Avoid application of this product when winds are gusty. DO NOT direct spray above plants to be treated. Turn off outward pointing nozzles at row ends and outer rows. DO NOT apply when wind speed is greater than 16 km/h at the application site as measured outside of the treatment area on the upwind side.
DO NOT apply by air.

The buffer zones specified in the table below are required between the point of direct application and the closest downwind edge of sensitive freshwater habitats (such as lakes, rivers, sloughs, ponds, prairie potholes, creeks, marshes, streams, reservoirs and wetlands) and estuarine/marine habitats.
For effective Scale Control with air blast sprayers, apply at least 2,000 L/ha increasing this to 4,000 L/ha, applied from 4 sides, for severely encrusted scales.

Use 40 litres of Guardsman Dormant Spray per 1000 litres of water or use 90 litres per hectare. Make a single applicati on when trees are in the dormant stage.

Rate of application: 20 L product / 1000 L One application per year. Apply as a dormant spray in late winter. Do not apply just before, or during freezing weather. Thorough coverage is essential. Apply on a mild day, but not in late afternoon or evening, so the trees will dry quickly. Do not spray if frost is expected before the trees dry. Ground application only.
Spray volume: 750-1500 L/ha, depending on size of bushes.

Lime Sulphur and Dormant Oil Spray Tank Mix.
Rate of application: 5L Lime Sulphur PLUS 1.25 L Dormant Oil Spray in 100 L spray. One application per year. Apply when the plants are dormant (January-March). Ground application only. Spray to the point of run-off.
 
MIXING DIRECTIONS:
Fill the tank about half-full with water and with the agitator running, add the required amount of oil. Pump the mixture through the overflow back into the tank for about two minutes to obtain proper emulsification.
Continue to fill the tank with water under constant agitation. If required add and mix a compatible fungicide before adding the oil.
 
CAUTION:
Do not use the spray mixture before the oil has been properly emulsified. Do not apply just before or during freezing weather. Keep the agitator running until the spray tank is empty.
 
COMPATIBILITY:
Guardsman Dormant Spray Oil is compatible with Ferbam, Fixed Copper or Ziram. It is also compatible with Lime Sulphur for European Scale or Peach Leaf Curl control. Do not mix with Captan or Wettable Sulhur.
