GENERAL INFORMATION
HABITAT herbicide is an aqueous solution to be mixed with water and an adjuvant and applied as a spray solution for season long control of Spartina spp. (cordgrass) in tidal areas along the coast of British Columbia.
Habitat herbicide does not control plants which are completely submerged or have a majority of their foliage under water.
For maximum activity, weeds should be growing vigorously at the time of application and the spray solution should include AgSurf II.
HABITAT herbicide is readily absorbed through foliage and roots and is translocated rapidly throughout the plant. Treated plants stop growing soon after spray application. Chlorosis appears first in the newest leaves, and necrosis spreads from this point. In perennials, the herbicide is translocated into, and kills, underground storage organs, thus preventing regrowth. Chlorosis and tissue necrosis may not be apparent in some plant species until two weeks after application. Complete kill of plants may not occur for several weeks.
Keep HABITAT herbicide away from areas where tree roots may extend into the treated area or in locations where the chemical may be washed or moved into contact with their roots (maintain a distance from the tree equal to at least twice the distance from the tree trunk to the dripline), unless damage or death of the tree can be tolerated.
Prevent drift of spray to desirable plants.
Thoroughly clean all traces of HABITAT herbicide from application equipment immediately after use. Drain and flush equipment away from desirable trees and plants. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment wash waters.
NOTE: Use of this product in any manner not consistent with this booklet may result in injury to persons, animals or crops, or other unintended consequences. Keep container closed to prevent spills and contamination.
This product is to be applied by licensed applicators only.

RESTRICTED USES
For the post emergent control of cordgrass (Spartina spp.) in tidal areas along the coast of British Columbia.
Apply 4.67 to 7 L HABITAT herbicide per hectare in tank mix with 0.5% v/v Agsurf II using hand-held (e.g. back-pack sprayer) or mounted equipment that will provide good spray coverage of weed foliage. Apply to actively growing foliage. Schedule applications in order to allow 4 hours before treated plants are covered by tidewater. Use the higher labeled rates for heavy weed pressure.
DO NOT apply more than 7 L of product per hectare per year.
DO NOT apply by air.
DO NOT harvest Salicornia spp. within 24 hours of Habitat Herbicide Solution application in 2016.
DO NOT harvest Salicornia spp. growing within 5 m of Habitat Herbicide Solution application in 2016.

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
Mix the proper amount of HABITAT herbicide and surfactant in water in the spray tank with the agitator running. A foam reducing agent may be added at the recommended label rate, if needed.
