Seed piece treatment fungicide for use on potato for the control of black scurf/stem and stolon canker (Rhizoctonia solani), silver scurf (Helminthosporium solani), and Fusarium dry rot (Fusarium spp.)

STORAGE
Store in original container only. Store in a well-ventilated, cool, dry, secure area. Protect from heat, sparks and flame. Do not expose containers below freezing or above 30 C. Keep separate from other products to prevent cross contamination. Rotate stock. Clean up spilled material immediately.

GENERAL INFORMATION
MAXIM D is a potato seed piece treatment fungicide that controls seed-borne diseases of potatoes. MAXIM D is active against black scurf and stem and stolon canker (Rhizoctonia solani), silver scurf (Helminthosporium solani), and Fusarium dry rot (Fusarium spp.). MAXIM D does not control bacterial diseases present within the seed.
MAXIM D is to be used as an integral part of a potato disease management strategy. This strategy includes the use of high quality seed and the incorporation of cultural techniques such as: crop rotation and optimal harvest time for tubers to minimize disease development, proper handling of tubers to avoid unnecessary bruising, management and sanitation of equipment and storage areas to reduce inoculum including avoidance of storage conditions that lead to free moisture or condensation and application of the seed piece treatment to clean seed pieces with a properly calibrated application system.
NOTE: Treatment of highly mechanically scarred, excessively sprouted, bruised, or damaged seed pieces, or seed pieces known to be of low vigor, "physiologically old" (that has multiple sprouts) and poor quality, except for the purpose of curative control of existing disease pests, may result in reduced germination and/or reduction of seed piece and seedling vigor. Treat a small quantity of seed pieces using equipment similar to that planned for treating the total seed lot. Conduct germination tests on a small portion of seed pieces before committing the total seed lot to a selected seed treatment. Due to seed piece quality and seed piece storage conditions beyond the control of Syngenta Canada Inc., no claims are made to guarantee the germination of potato seed pieces.

TANK MIXES
For control of Colorado potato beetle, aphids and potato leafhopper, MAXIM D can be tank mixed with ACTARA 240SC Insecticide or CRUISER POTATO Seed Piece Treatment. Refer to the MAXIM D and ACTARA 240SC Insecticide or CRUISER POTATO Seed Piece Treatment product labels for specific application instructions and precautions. Follow the most restrictive label precautions and limitations.
