DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Myacide BT is a preservative used to control the growth of spoilage and microorganisms during the shelf life of the product.
Use Myacide BT at 50 to 200 ppm (0.005 to 0.02%) to preserve the following aqueous-based Household Product types: hand dishwashing fluids; liquid laundry detergents and fabric conditioners (not concentrates); bath, shower, and toilet bowl cleaners; surface and floor cleaners; polishes and degreasers; carpet and upholstery cleaners.
Myacide BT is best incorporated at the final liquid stage in any production process after any heating stage. Add when the product has cooled below 40 C or at the lowest temperature commensurate with effective mixing. Ensure good mixing and even distribution throughout the product.
Freshly prepare a 10% w/w solution of Myacide BT using cold water with moderate stirring. Add a single dose either by open pouring or by metered pumping following the handling instructions outlined in the safety data sheet. It is recommended that the formulator conduct efficacy trials with their specific household products within the registered range of rates.
Use Limitations
The chemical stability of Myacide BT is known to decrease in alkaline conditions. However, in alkaline formulations Myacide BT can act as a useful labile preservative, although may not confer long term preservation to the system.
Avoid direct contact with strongly alkaline materials, strong oxidising and reducing agents as these can cause the rapid breakdown of Myacide BT, thus reducing its antibacterial efficacy.
Avoid the use of Myacide BT in formulated products containing even trace levels of secondary amine, in order to minimise the occurrence of nitrosamine formation during the manufacturing process. Nitrosamines are formed by the reaction of secondary amines with oxides of nitrogen.

DISPOSAL
Triple- or pressure-rinse the empty container. Add the rinsings to the treatment site. Follow provincial instructions for any required additional cleaning of the container prior to its disposal. Make the empty container unsuitable for further use. Dispose of the container in accordance with provincial requirements. For information on the disposal of unused, unwanted product contact the provincial regulatory agency or the manufacturer. Contact the manufacturer and the provincial regulatory agency in case of a spill and for clean-up of spills.
