1.0 GENERAL INFORMATION
OUTLOOK will control labeled grass and broadleaf weeds in potatoes.
OUTLOOK is applied as a pre-emergent application to potatoes before weeds emerge. The pre- emergent application may occur after potatoes are planted or after hilling provided plants are not emerged. Do not apply OUTLOOK before planting or onto emerged potatoes.

2.0 PRECAUTIONS
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
Harmful or fatal if swallowed. Causes eye irritation. DO NOT get in eyes. Potential skin sensitizer. May cause skin sensitization reactions in certain individuals. DO NOT get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Avoid breathing spray mist. Wear a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, coveralls and chemical resistant gloves and shoes plus socks during mixing, loading, application, clean-up and repair. In addition, wear goggles or face shield during mixing/loading.
DO NOT enter or allow worker entry into treated areas during the restricted entry interval (REI) of 24 hours.
Apply only when the potential for drift to areas of human habitation or areas of human activity such as houses, cottages, schools and recreational areas is minimal. Take into consideration wind speed, wind direction, temperature inversions, application equipment.
DO NOT apply by air. Reduce spray drift to areas adjacent to the treated crop by using correct spray pressure, water volume and boom height recommended for nozzles used. DO NOT spray under conditions of high wind. Refer to grazing restrictions on this label.
If this pest control product is to be used on a commodity that may be exported to the U.S. and you require information on acceptable residue levels in the U.S., visit CropLife Canada’s web site at www.croplife.ca.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
3.0 GENERAL APPLICATION INFORMATION
OUTLOOK is applied as a pre-emergent application to potatoes before weeds emerge. The pre- emergent application may occur after potatoes are planted or after hilling provided plants are not emerged.
Do not apply OUTLOOK before planting or onto emerged potatoes as injury may result.
Apply OUTLOOK with ground equipment as specified. Equipment should be checked frequently for proper calibration.
As this pesticide is not registered for the control of pests in aquatic systems, DO NOT use to control aquatic pests.
DO NOT contaminate irrigation/drinking water supplies or aquatic habitats by cleaning of equipment or disposal of wastes.
DO NOT apply by air.

Field sprayer application
DO NOT apply during periods of dead calm. Avoid application of this product when winds are gusty. DO NOT apply with spray droplets smaller than the American Society of Agricultural Engineers (ASAE) medium classification. Boom height must be 60 cm or less above the crop or ground.

Buffer zones
The buffer zones specified in the table below are required between the point of direct application and the closest downwind edge of sensitive terrestrial habitats (such as grasslands, forested areas, shelter belts, woodlots, hedgerows, riparian areas and shrublands), sensitive freshwater habitats (such as lakes, rivers, sloughs, ponds, prairie potholes, creeks, marshes, streams, reservoirs, and wetlands), and estuarine/marine habitats.

Method of application – Field sprayer (1)
Crop – Potatoes
Buffer Zones (metres) Required for the Protection of:
Freshwater Habitat of Depths:
Less than 1 m – 1
Greater than 1 m – 1
Estuarine/Marine Habitats of Depths:
Less than 1 m – 1
Greater than 1 m – 1
Terrestrial Habitat: 3

(1) For field sprayer application, buffer zones can be reduced with the use of drift reducing spray shields. When using a spray boom fitted with a full shield (shroud, curtain) that extends to the crop canopy, the labeled buffer zone can be reduced by 70%. When using a spray boom where individual nozzles are fitted with cone-shaped shields that are no more than 30 cm above the crop canopy, the labeled buffer zone can be reduced by 30%.

When a tank mixture is used, consult the labels of the tank-mix partners and observe the largest (most restrictive) buffer zone of the products involved in the tank mixture.

3.1 ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS
Toxic to aquatic organisms, non-target terrestrial plants and small wild mammals.
This product contains an active ingredient and aromatic petroleum distillates which are toxic to aquatic organisms.
To reduce runoff from treated areas into aquatic habitats, avoid application to areas with a moderate to steep slope, compacted soil, or clay.
Avoid application when heavy rain is forecast.
Contamination of aquatic areas as a result of runoff may be reduced by including a vegetative strip between the treated area and the edge of the water body.
The use of this chemical may result in contamination of groundwater particularly in areas where soils are permeable (e.g. sandy soil) and/or the depth to the water table is shallow.

3.2 SPRAYING INSTRUCTIONS
Ground application
Spray volume -- minimum of 100 L/ha in sufficient water to ensure thorough coverage
Keep bypass line on or near bottom of tank to minimize foaming.
Use 16 mesh suction screen, 50 mesh elsewhere on sprayer.
Select proper nozzle and pressure to avoid spraying fine mist. For best results, use flat fan or flood jet nozzle.

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Clean spray tank following sprayer clean-up recommendations on the previous product label.
2. Place a 20 to 35 mesh screen or wetting basket over filling port.
3. Through the screen fill sprayer tank one-half full with water. Start gentle agitation.
4. If wettable powder or water dispersible granule tank mix partner is used, make a slurry, and add it slowly through the screen into the tank. Continue agitation.
5. If liquid flowable tank mix partner is used, pre-mix one part liquid flowable with one part water. Add diluted mixture slowly through the screen into the tank.
6. Fill tank 9/10 full with water and add OUTLOOK and other emulsifiable concentrate or solution tank mix partners.
7. Top off tank mix with water, maintain agitation and spray. If spray mixture is allowed to settle at any time, thorough gentle agitation is required to re-suspend the mixture before spraying is resumed.
8. Do not let stand without agitation.
9. Thoroughly clean the spray tank immediately after use. Refer to specific tank mix partner label for clean-up instructions.

3.3 WEEDS CONTROLLED
OUTLOOK is applied as a pre-emergent application to potatoes before weeds emerge. The pre- emergent application may occur after potatoes are planted or after hilling provided plants are not emerged.
Do not apply OUTLOOK before planting or onto emerged potatoes as injury may result.
OUTLOOK applied as directed will control the following weeds:
Foxtail (green, yellow, giant)
Crabgrass (smooth, large)
Old witchgrass
Barnyard grass
Fall panicum
Redroot pigweed (1)
Eastern black nightshade (1)
Nutsedge, yellow (2)

(1) High rate of 963 mL/ha. Lower rates provide suppression only
(2) Suppression only

4.0 FACTORS AFFECTING OUTLOOK PERFORMANCE
Rainfall is required within 7 to 10 days of treatment to activate and move OUTLOOK into the soil zone. If dry conditions persist a shallow cultivation or the use of a rotary hoe is necessary to move the chemical into moist soil and control weed escapes. If cultivation is necessary because of soil crusting or compaction, tillage should be shallow to minimize dilution of the herbicide.
In cold and wet growing conditions, OUTLOOK application may result in delayed emergence or early season stunting of potatoes.

5.0 POTATOES
Ground application
Notes
Consult the label of the product to be tank mixed with OUTLOOK for specific instructions regarding application rate for specific soil type, precautions and other restrictions.
OUTLOOK may only be applied in a single application in potato.
DO NOT exceed the specified rate by soil type in a single application.
DO NOT apply within 40 days prior to harvest.
DO NOT graze or feed treated crop to livestock prior to 40 days after application of OUTLOOK.

Timing: Pre-emergence (after planting of potatoes or after hilling provided plants are not emerged)
Apply OUTLOOK at the higher rates illustrated in the Table below on fine textured or high organic soils and for heavier weed problems.

6.0 RECROPPING and ROTATIONAL CROP RESTRICTIONS
Re-Cropping Restriction
In situations where OUTLOOK has been applied to potato and crop failure occurs due to adverse weather or other reasons, the replanting (re-cropping) of potato is not recommended. If replanting of a crop is necessary, the following crops may be planted:
Field corn
Sweet corn
Soybeans
Dry common beans

Rotational crops
See below the interval required between the applications of OUTLOOK and seeding of rotational crops:
100 days for cereals
The following crops may be planted in the spring following the previous year's application of OUTLOOK:
Potato Field corn Sweet corn Seed corn Soybeans Dry common beans Green onions Transplanted cabbage Peanuts 11 months for all other crops.

7.0 RESISTANCE-MANAGEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS
For resistance management, OUTLOOK is a Group 15 herbicide. Any weed population may contain or develop plants naturally resistant to OUTLOOK and other Group 15 herbicides. The resistant biotypes may dominate the weed population if these herbicides are used repeatedly in the same field. Other resistance mechanisms that are not linked to site of action, but specific for individual chemicals, such as enhanced metabolism, may also exist. Appropriate resistance-management strategies should be followed.
To delay herbicide resistance:
Where possible, rotate the use of OUTLOOK or other Group 15 herbicides within a growing season (sequence) or among growing seasons with different herbicide groups that control the same weeds in a field.
Use tank mixtures with herbicides from a different group when such use is permitted. To delay resistance, the less resistance-prone partner should control the target weed(s) as effectively as the more resistance-prone partner.
Herbicide use should be based on an integrated weed management program that includes scouting, historical information related to herbicide use and crop rotation, and considers tillage (or other mechanical control methods), cultural (for example, higher crop seeding rates; precision fertilizer application method and timing to favour the crop and not the weeds), biological (weed-competitive crops or varieties) and other management practices.
Monitor weed populations after herbicide application for signs of resistance development (for example, only one weed species on the herbicide label not controlled). If resistance is suspected, prevent weed seed production in the affected area if possible by an alternative herbicide from a different group. Prevent movement of resistant weed seeds to other fields by cleaning harvesting and tillage equipment when moving between fields, and planting clean seed.
Have suspected resistant weed seeds tested by a qualified laboratory to confirm resistance and identify alternative herbicide options.
Contact your local extension specialist or certified crop advisors for any additional pesticide resistance-management and/or integrated weed-management recommendations for specific crops and weed biotypes.
