GENERAL INFORMATION

PERLAN is a plant growth regulator solution for use on Red Delicious apples. PERLAN Plant Growth Regulator Solution improves the shape (‘typiness’) of Red Delicious apples by increasing the development of calyx lobes and elongating the fruit. Individual fruit weight may be increased.
Some thinning may occur when PERLAN is applied at the higher rate.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Do not apply by air.
PERLAN Plant Growth Regulator Solution should be applied using conventional spray application equipment.

Airblast application:
Do not direct spray above plants to be treated. Turn off outward pointing nozzles at row ends and outer rows. Do not apply when wind speed is greater than 16 km/h at the application site as measured outside of the treatment area on the upwind side. DO NOT apply during periods of dead calm. Avoid application of this product when winds are gusty.

Application Rate:
Use 1.2 to 2.3 litres of PERLAN Plant Growth Regulator Solution between 40 and 80% king bloom and early petal fall in 500 to 2000 litres of water per hectare. In those areas where prolonged bloom occurs, sequential applications should be made at 5 to 7 day intervals. Do not apply more than a total of 2.4 litres per hectare of PERLAN Plant Growth Regulator
Solution per season.
Apply all sprays as a fine mist to ensure maximum coverage and spray retention on flowers and foliage.
Do not apply in water volumes greater than 2000 litres per hectare. Spray volume should be adjusted to tree size and density. This is equivalent to a sprayer nozzled for a standard 5m tree height on a 6m by 6m spacing. Direct 85% of spray to the upper 2/3rds of the trees.
High relative humidity and conditions conducive of slow drying favor maximum absorption of
PERLAN Plant Growth Regulator Solution. Application in morning or evening may be preferable. Conditions favouring rapid drying of spray deposits should be avoided.
Do not apply if air temperature is less than 5o
C or greater than 32oC.
Efficacy of PERLAN Plant Growth Regulator Solution may be reduced if rain occurs within 6 hours after application.
Observe a minimum interval to harvest of 28 days after treatment.
