SOMBRERO 600 FS is a systemic insecticide seed treatment for early season protection of canola, mustard (condiment-type only) and rapeseed seed and seedlings from flea beetles. In areas where flea beetle populations are often high, the higher application rate is recommended.
SOMBRERO 600 FS provides early season protection of field corn for seed production against corn flea beetle which vectors Stewart’s Wilt disease by feeding on corn seedlings.
SOMBRERO 600 FS also provides early season control of wireworms in field corn, cereals and soybeans and control of soybean aphid, bean leaf beetle and seedcorn maggot in soybeans.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
For use in commercial seed treaters only. Not for use on agricultural establishments in hopperbox, slurry-box, or other seed treatment applications at, or immediately before, planting. This product is to be used in liquid or slurry treaters. Mix thoroughly before use, or use entire container at one time.
Equipment used in seed treating plants can vary, thus it is advised that a MANA Technical Representative be contacted to discuss the use of SOMBRERO 600 FS Insecticide in the intended seed treater prior to use. SOMBRERO 600 FS treated seed may reduce seed flow in the seed drill. Recalibration of the seed drill may be required to obtain correct seeding rate before planting.  SOMBRERO 600 FS can be used as an over-treatment.

RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS
For resistance management, please note that SOMBRERO 600 FS contains a Group 4 insecticide. Any insect population may contain individuals naturally resistant to SOMBRERO 600 FS and other Group 4 insecticides. The resistant individuals may dominate the insect population if this group of insecticides is used repeatedly in the same fields. Other resistance mechanisms that are not linked to site of action, but are specific for individual chemicals, such as enhanced metabolism, may also exist. Appropriate resistance-management strategies should be followed.
To delay insecticide resistance:
Where possible, rotate the use of SOMBRERO 600 FS or other Group 4 insecticides with different groups that control the same pests in a field.
Use tank mixture with insecticides from a different group when such use is permitted.
Insecticide use should be based on an IPM program that includes scouting, record keeping, and considers cultural, biological and other chemical control practices.
Monitor treated pest populations for resistance development.
Contact your local extension specialist or certified crop advisors for any additional pesticide resistance-management and/or IPM recommendations for the specific site and pest problems in your area.
For further information or to report suspected resistance contact Adama Agricultural Solutions Ltd. at 855-264-6262.

USE RESTRICTIONS:
1. Do not use treated seed for food, feed or oil processing.
2. Do not graze or feed livestock on treated areas for four weeks after planting.
3. Mustard greens grown or harvested from SOMBRERO 600 FS treated seed must not be used for human consumption.
4. Treated canola, rapeseed or mustard (condiment-type only) seed stored for periods in excess of 6 months may decrease in germination at a faster rate than untreated seed.Treated seed stored for more than 6 months should be tested for germination before planting. Do not store treated seed above 25°C or in direct sunlight.
5. This chemical demonstrates the properties and characteristics associated with chemicals detected in ground water. The use of SOMBRERO 600 FS in areas where soils are
permeable, particularly where the water table is shallow, may result in ground water contamination.

LABELLING TREATED SEED:
All bags containing treated seed must be labelled or tagged as follows: “This seed has been treated with SOMBRERO 600 FS seed protectant, which contains imidacloprid. Do not use for feed, food or oil processing. Store away from feeds and other foodstuffs.”
All treated canola, mustard and corn seed for sale or use in Canada must be labelled with the following information:
Imidacloprid is toxic to bees. Dust generated during planting of treated seed may be harmful to bees and other pollinators. To help minimize the dust generated during planting, refer to the complete guidance “Pollinator Protection and Responsible Use of Treated Seed- Best Management Practices” on the Health Canada webpage on pollinator protection at www.healthcanada.gc.ca/pollinators. When using a seed flow lubricant with this treated seed, only the Fluency Agent by Bayer CropScience is permitted. Carefully follow use directions for this seed flow lubricant. Do not load or clean planting equipment near bee colonies, and avoid places where bees may be foraging, such as flowering crops or weeds. When turning on the planter, avoid engaging the system where emitted dust may contact honey bee colonies. Spilled or exposed seeds and dust must be incorporated into the soil or cleaned up from the soil.
