BUPROSTAR is a broad-spectrum insecticide containing a combination of two active ingredients: Buprofezin (15%) and Acephate (35%). It is effective against a wide range of insect pests, including sucking pests, leafhoppers, planthoppers, and rice hoppers.

Active Ingredients and Mode of Action:

BUPROSTAR's dual-action formula provides effective control of both sucking pests and chewing pests. Buprofezin belongs to the insect growth regulator (IGR) class of insecticides and acts by inhibiting chitin synthesis, disrupting the molting process of insects and preventing their development. Acephate is an organophosphate insecticide that inhibits acetylcholinesterase (AChE), an enzyme essential for nerve function in insects, leading to paralysis and death.

Application:

BUPROSTAR is available in a wettable powder (WP) formulation and can be applied using various methods, including foliar spraying, soil drenching, and seed treatment. It is suitable for use in a variety of crops, including rice, wheat, vegetables, and fruits.

Target Pests:

BUPROSTAR effectively controls a wide range of insect pests, including:

  • Sucking pests: Aphids, whiteflies, jassids, thrips, leafhoppers

  • Chewing pests: Caterpillars, beetles, weevils, leaf miners
