General Information:
Derby is a broad-spectrum insecticide that effectively controls a wide range of pests, including whiteflies, aphids, jassids, thrips, diamondback moth (DBM), mites, and whiteflies. It exhibits efficacy against both nymphs and adults, providing long-lasting control. Derby is selective to beneficial insects, making it an ideal choice for integrated pest management (IPM) programs.
Active Ingredient:
Diafenthiuron 50% WP
Mode of Action:
Derby works by inhibiting the synthesis of chitin, a crucial component of the insect's exoskeleton. This disruption of chitin synthesis leads to molting and growth abnormalities, ultimately causing the death of the pest.
Application:
Derby can be applied as a foliar spray or soil drench. It is compatible with most other insecticides and fungicides.
Precautions:
-
Wear protective clothing and equipment, including gloves, goggles, and a mask, when handling Derby.
-
Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing.
-
Do not apply Derby near water bodies or where there is a risk of runoff.
-
Follow the recommended dosage and application instructions carefully.
-
Store Derby in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
-
Keep Derby out of reach of children and pets.
Doses:
The recommended dose of Derby is 600 gm/Ha. However, the specific dose may vary depending on the target pest and crop. Always refer to the product label for accurate dosage instructions.
