Enzip (Rallis India Limited) is a post-emergent, systemic herbicide with two active ingredients: sodium acifluorfen (16.5% EC) and clodinafop-propargyl (8% EC). It is used to control a wide range of broadleaf weeds and grasses in a variety of crops, including soybeans, corn, wheat, rice, and sugarcane.

Mode of action:

Sodium acifluorfen is a synthetic auxin herbicide that mimics the effects of the plant hormone auxin. Auxins are responsible for cell division and elongation, and sodium acifluorfen disrupts these processes, killing the plant. Clodinafop-propargyl is a selective herbicide that inhibits the production of acetyl coenzyme A (acetyl-CoA), a key enzyme in the fatty acid biosynthesis pathway. This prevents the production of new cell membranes, which is essential for plant growth and development.

Application:

Enzip can be applied as a broadcast or spot spray using a conventional sprayer. The application rate depends on the type of weed being controlled, the crop being grown, and the soil type. For example, to control broadleaf weeds in soybeans, the application rate is 0.5-1 L/ha. To control grasses in corn, the application rate is 0.75-1.25 L/ha. To control broadleaf weeds and grasses in wheat, the application rate is 1-1.5 L/ha. To control grasses in rice, the application rate is 1.5-2 L/ha. To control broadleaf weeds and grasses in sugarcane, the application rate is 2-2.5 L/ha.

Benefits:

Enzip is a highly effective herbicide that provides broad-spectrum control of a wide range of broadleaf weeds and grasses. It is also relatively selective, meaning that it will not harm most crop plants. Enzip is also a cost-effective herbicide, making it a popular choice for farmers.

Restrictions:

Enzip is a restricted-use herbicide and must be applied by certified applicators. It is also important to follow the label directions carefully to avoid crop injury.

Safety:

Enzip is a safe and effective herbicide when used according to the label directions. However, it is important to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when applying Enzip, including gloves, long sleeves, pants, and eye protection. It is also important to avoid contact with the skin and eyes.

Storage:

Enzip should be stored in a cool, dry place, out of reach of children and pets.

Additional notes:

Enzip is a very popular herbicide, and it is used in a variety of crops and situations. It is important to follow the label directions carefully to ensure effective weed control and minimize the risk of crop injury.
