Galaxy NXT Herbicide
General Information:
Galaxy NXT is a selective post-emergence herbicide for the control of broadleaf weeds and some grassy weeds in Soybean. It contains a combination of two active ingredients, Fluthiacet-methyl and Quizalofop-ethyl. Galaxy NXT is a systemic herbicide that is absorbed by the leaves and roots of the weeds and translocated to the growing points, where it inhibits cell division.
Active Ingredients:
- Fluthiacet-methyl 2.5% + Quizalofop-ethyl 10% EC
Mode of Action:
Galaxy NXT has a dual mode of action. Fluthiacet-methyl is a contact herbicide that kills the weeds by disrupting their cell membranes. Quizalofop-ethyl is a systemic herbicide that inhibits the production of fatty acids, which are essential for cell growth and division.
Application:
Galaxy NXT should be applied post-emergence to the weeds, when they are 2-4 leaf stage. It can be applied using a knapsack sprayer or a boom sprayer. The recommended dose of Galaxy NXT is 1.0-1.5 liters/ha.
Precautions:
- Galaxy NXT is a selective herbicide, but it can injure some crops if applied incorrectly. It is important to read and follow the label directions carefully.
- Galaxy NXT is not rain fast. Therefore, it should not be applied if rain is expected within 4 hours of application.
- Galaxy NXT is toxic to fish and other aquatic organisms. Therefore, it should not be applied near water bodies.

It is also relatively safe for soybean plants and has a moderate residual activity in the soil, which helps to suppress weed growth.
