Introduction

HITWEED MAXX (Godrej Agrovet Ltd) Pyrithiobac Sodium 6% + Quizalofop ethyl 4% MEC is a patented technology for the control of all broad and narrow-leaf weeds in cotton, developed by in-house R&D at Godrej Agrovet. It is one of the most effective herbicides that does not need any tank mix partner and is easy to use. It's completely safe for the Cotton crop.

Mode of Action

HITWEED MAXX is a dual-action herbicide that combines the action of two active ingredients: pyrithiobac sodium and quizalofop ethyl.

  • Pyrithiobac sodium is a pyrimidinylsulfonylurea (SULFONYLUREA) herbicide that inhibits the enzyme acetolactate synthase (ALS), which is essential for the synthesis of branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs). Without BCAAs, plants cannot grow and eventually die.

  • Quizalofop ethyl is an aryloxyphenoxypropionate (ARYLXYPHENOXYPROPIONATE) herbicide that inhibits the enzyme acetyl-coenzyme A carboxylase (ACC), which is essential for the synthesis of fatty acids. Without fatty acids, the cell membranes of plants break down and the plants die.

Application Rates

The application rate of HITWEED MAXX will vary depending on the target weed, the severity of the infestation, and the environmental conditions. In general, the application rate will range from 250 to 300 milliliters per acre.

Application Methods

HITWEED MAXX can be applied by pre-emergence application, early post-emergence application, and directed spray.

  • Pre-emergence application: Apply HITWEED MAXX to the soil surface before the weeds emerge.

  • Early post-emergence application: Apply HITWEED MAXX to the foliage of the weeds when they are small and actively growing.

  • Directed spray: Apply HITWEED MAXX directly to the target weeds to avoid harming desirable plants.

Application Timing

HITWEED MAXX should be applied when weeds are actively growing. The best time to apply is in the spring or fall when weeds are young and tender.

Re-Entry Interval

The re-entry interval for HITWEED MAXX is 24 hours. This means that people should not enter the treated area until 24 hours after the last application.
