Hopcide 50 EC is a broad-spectrum insecticide with contact and stomach action, effective for the control of hopper pests in various crops, including rice, mango, and cotton. It is formulated with BPMC (bendiocarb), a carbamate insecticide known for its quick knockdown effect and longer residual control.

Active Ingredient:

• BPMC (bendiocarb) 500 g/L

Mode of Action:

BPMC acts as an acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor, disrupting the insect's nervous system by preventing the breakdown of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter essential for nerve function. This leads to overstimulation of nerves, causing paralysis and death of the insect.

Application:

Hopcide 50 EC can be applied as a foliar spray using a knapsack sprayer or any other suitable spraying equipment. It is recommended to spray in the early morning or late evening hours when the temperature is cooler and the wind is calm.

Precautions:

• Wear protective clothing, gloves, and goggles while handling and applying Hopcide 50 EC.
• Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
• Do not spray near water bodies or areas where bees are active.
