SYTAF (ATRAZINE 50% WP) is a selective and systemic herbicide used to control annual broadleaf and grassy weeds in a variety of crops, including maize, sugarcane, sorghum, and pineapple. It is a versatile herbicide that can be used as a pre-emergence or post-emergence treatment.

Key Features

  • Selective control of annual broadleaf and grassy weeds
  • Systemic action that controls both emerged and germinating weeds
  • Long-lasting residual effect
  • Effective in a variety of crops

Mode of Action

SYTAF is absorbed by both the roots and foliage of weeds. It then moves throughout the plant, disrupting chlorophyll production and photosynthesis. This leads to the death of the weed.

Application and Usage

SYTAF can be applied as a pre-emergence or post-emergence treatment.

Pre-emergence application: Apply SYTAF to the soil after planting the crop, but before weeds emerge. The recommended application rate is 1.0 to 2.0 kilograms of formulation per hectare.

Post-emergence application: Apply SYTAF to emerged weeds. The recommended application rate is 1.5 to 2.5 kilograms of formulation per hectare.

SYTAF can be applied using a knapsack sprayer, boom sprayer, or aerial applicator.

Precautions and Safety

SYTAF is moderately toxic to humans and animals. Wear protective clothing, including gloves, goggles, and a respirator, when mixing and applying the herbicide. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not apply SYTAF near water sources or in areas where it may contaminate crops or desirable vegetation.

Storage and Disposal

Store SYTAF in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area away from heat and direct sunlight. Keep the container tightly sealed when not in use. Dispose of unused herbicide and contaminated packaging according to local regulations.
