General Information:

Tynzer is a selective herbicide for corn with Topramezone as the active ingredient. It is a post-emergence herbicide that provides broad-spectrum weed control with complete crop safety.

Mode of Action:

Tynzer inhibits the enzyme 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD), which is essential for the production of carotenoids in plants. Without carotenoids, plants cannot photosynthesize and die.

Application:

Tynzer should be applied post-emergence to corn when weeds are 2-4 inches tall. It can be applied alone or in combination with other herbicides.

Target Weeds:

Tynzer controls a wide range of broadleaf and grass weeds, including:

  • Broadleaf weeds: Amaranthus spp., Ambrosia spp., Chenopodium spp., Cirsium spp., Conyza spp., Eclipta alba, Ipomoea spp., Portulaca oleracea, Stellaria media, Xanthium strumarium
  • Grass weeds: Digitaria sanguinalis, Echinochloa crus-galli, Panicum spp., Setaria spp.

Precautions:

  • Tynzer is not for use on sweet corn.
  • Do not apply Tynzer to corn that is under stress from drought, heat, or other environmental factors.
  • Do not apply Tynzer within 7 days of planting corn.
  • Avoid applying Tynzer to corn that is flooded or waterlogged.
  • Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling and applying Tynzer.

Additional Information:

Tynzer is a low-volatility herbicide, which means that it is less likely to drift off target than other herbicides. It is also rainfast within 1 hour of application.
