General Information:
Izuki is a systemic fungicide that effectively controls a wide range of diseases in paddy crops, including blast and sheath blight. It is a suspension concentrate formulation that contains Thifluzamide 26% + Kasugamycin 6% as the active ingredients. Izuki is known for its broad-spectrum disease control, long residual activity, and resistance management properties.
Mode of Action:
Izuki's active ingredients, Thifluzamide and Kasugamycin, belong to different chemical classes and have different modes of action, providing a multi-pronged approach to disease control.
-
Thifluzamide: It inhibits the biosynthesis of methionine, an essential amino acid for fungal growth and development. This disruption of methionine synthesis leads to the inhibition of protein synthesis and ultimately causes the death of the fungal pathogens.
-
Kasugamycin: It interferes with protein synthesis in fungal pathogens by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, preventing the formation of functional proteins essential for their growth and survival.
Application:
Izuki is applied as a foliar spray to the foliage of paddy crops. Thorough coverage of the leaves and stems is essential for maximizing its effectiveness. The recommended application rate is 400 ml per hectare.
Precautions:
-
Izuki is a moderately toxic fungicide and should be handled with care. Wear protective clothing, gloves, and goggles when handling the product.
-
Avoid contact with skin and eyes. If contact occurs, flush with water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention.
-
Do not apply Izuki to paddy crops that are under stress from drought, flooding, or other factors.
-
Do not apply Izuki to water bodies or areas where there is a risk of runoff to water bodies. The fungicide is harmful to fish and aquatic organisms.
This list is not exhaustive, and Izuki can control a wide range of other diseases in paddy crops. For specific information on disease control, always refer to the product label or consult with a local agricultural extension agent.
