Mode of Action

Sytrizole is a combination of two fungicides with different modes of action:

  • Tricyclazole: An ergosterol biosynthesis inhibitor that disrupts the production of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. This leads to the leakage of cell contents and the death of the fungus.

  • Hexaconazole: An ergosterol biosynthesis inhibitor that also disrupts mitochondrial respiration, the process by which fungi generate energy. This further inhibits fungal growth and reproduction.

Application and Usage

Sytrizole can be applied as a foliar spray or soil drench.

Foliar spray: Apply Sytrizole as a foliar spray at a rate of 0.5 to 1.0 liter per hectare. Repeat applications at intervals of 7 to 10 days, as needed.

Soil drench: Apply Sytrizole as a soil drench at a rate of 1.0 to 1.5 liters per hectare. Irrigate the field after application to ensure adequate penetration of the fungicide into the soil.

Precautions and Safety

Sytrizole is moderately toxic to humans and animals. Wear protective clothing, including gloves, goggles, and a respirator, when mixing and applying the fungicide. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not apply Sytrizole near water sources or in areas where it may contaminate crops or desirable vegetation.
