A water soluble granule formulation containing 300g/kg cyprodinil and 80g/kg picoxystrobin for use as a broad spectrum fungicide for disease control in winter and spring wheat and winter and spring barley.

Disease Control
Acanto Prima contains cyprodinil (an anilo pyrimidine fungicide) and picoxystrobin (a QoI fungicide) and controls a range of diseases of wheat and barley. At the recommended rate of application, Acanto Prima is active against the following diseases. Disease control is generally more effective if applied at an early stage of disease development.

Use Acanto Prima as part of a disease management programme. Control of wheat and barley diseases may be improved by using with an appropriate triazole mixture partner.

Resistance
When fungicides with the same mode of action are used repeatedly over several years in the same field, naturally occurring less sensitive strains may survive, propagate and become dominant in that field. A pathogen is considered resistant to a fungicide if it survives a correctly applied treatment at the recommended dose and timing, under normal weather conditions. Development of resistance within a pathogen can be avoided or delayed by alternating or mixing products having a different mode of action. The Fungicide Resistance Action Committee (FRAC) has produced guidelines on the management and avoidance of fungicide resistance. Details of these can be obtained from your supplier or DuPont.

Resistance to QoI fungicides has been identified in Septoria leaf blotch (Mycosphaerella graminicola), which may seriously affect the performance of some products. In wheat, Acanto Prima must always be used in mixture with another product containing an active ingredient from a different cross resistance group that is recommended for control of the same target disease applied at a rate that will give robust control. Where strains of fungi resistant to QoI’s occur, Acanto Prima is likely to be ineffective and should not be used. For further advice on resistance management, contact your agronomist or specialist advisor. You must not apply more than two foliar applications of Qol containing products to any cereal crop.

Crops
Acanto Prima can be used on all winter and spring varieties of wheat and barley.

Timing
Acanto Prima controls diseases most effectively when diseases are at low levels and before they spread to new growth.

Dose
Wheat: Apply one application of 2.5 kg/ha up to before third node detectable stage
(GS 33) and/or 1.5 kg per hectare before the early milk stage (GS 73).
Barley: Apply up to 2 application of 1.6 kg per hectare up to before beginning of heading, first spikelet just visible stage (GS 51)

Application volumes
Apply in 100 - 400 l/ha water using spraying equipment to give good even coverage
of the crop. The higher volumes are recommended when the crop is dense.

Mixing
Ensure sprayer is clean before use. Acanto Prima mixes easily with water and should be added directly to the spray tank during filling. Wash out container and add washings to the spray tank. Continue agitation during filling and when spraying.
