Wheat
CeCeCe 750 plant growth regulator should be applied to wheat crops during good growing conditions in spring. A split application in winter wheat may have advantages particularly in weak strawed varieties and in early drilled crops.
Oats
CeCeCe 750 plant growth regulator reduces stem length in oats under most circumstances but resistance to lodging will be greater on short strawed varieties. For optimum effects CeCeCe 750 must be applied when the second node or “joint” can be detected at the base of the majority of tillers (Growth Stage Zadoks 32).
For full effect, a non-ionic wetting agent must be added to the spray mixture at the rate of 25 ml per 100 litres.
Winter Barley – Autumn Application
Root development and tiller production for autumn sown barley is largely determined in the autumn of sowing. CeCeCe 750 applied in the autumn can stimulate both root system development and tiller production. (However an autumn application will not preclude the need for spring application).
Winter and Spring Barley – Spring Application
Whilst CeCeCe 750 applied in the spring is less consistent in barley for the control of lodging than in wheat or oats, the relatively early application timing can promote changes in the pattern of growth (such as numbers of tillers surviving to bear heads) which may lead to an increase in yield. Winter sown crops treated in the autumn will still benefit from a spring application by maintaining the stimulus on tiller production, thereby assisting the plant to reach the full yield potential set in the autumn.
Some reduction in green side tiller production may be noticed after the use of CeCeCe 750. The use of Terpal sequentially is recommended for reliable lodging control.
Triticale
CeCeCe 750 reduces stem length in triticale under most situations, and will help reduce the risk of early lodging.
The use of Terpal sequentially is recommended for improved lodging control when the crop is growing vigorously, having a good plant population with an adequate nutrient and moisture supply.
MIXTURES WITH OTHER SPRAY CHEMICALS
CeCeCe750 may be applied with most herbicides, foliar nutrients and cereal fungicides provided the correct timing of application for each product coincides.
Application with other spray chemicals CeCeCe750 may be mixed with Corbel.
IMPORTANT NOTES
If winter wheat varieties are sown in spring, apply CeCeCe750 plant growth regulator at the winter wheat rate of application.
Do not apply CeCeCe750 when the crop is wet or rain is imminent. Avoid spray drift on to neighbouring crops.
Do not apply CeCeCe750 to very late sown spring wheat or spring oat crop.
Do not apply CeCeCe750 to crops on soils of low fertility unless these soils regularly receive adequate dressings of nitrogen fertilisers. Caution is needed with mixture of liquid nitrogen fertiliser and CeCeCe750 as scorching may occur in certain
circumstances. CeCeCe750 may be applied to cereals undersown with grasses and clover.
Do not use straw from CeCeCe750 treated cereals as a horticultural growth medium or as a “mulch“.
