GENERAL INFORMATION
CHEROKEE is a suspo-emulsion containing 375 g/l chlorothalonil, 62.5 g/l propiconazole and 50 g/l cyproconazole for use as a foliar fungicide.
CHEROKEE contains both sterol biosynthesis inhibitors (SBI) and phthalonitrile fungicides.
CHEROKEE has systemic and preventative properties for control of a wide range of diseases on all commercial varieties of winter wheat and winter and spring barley.
SBI’s inhibit ergosterol biosynthesis and cell wall production. The mode of action is different from other fungicides and there is no known cross resistence to this mode of action in pathogens that have developed reduced sensitivity to other fungicide groups. Chlorothalonil is a multi-site fungicide and shows no cross resistance to other fungicide groups.
Treatment at early stages of disease development will ensure the best results.

Caution
The possible development of resistance to CHEROKEE cannot be predicted. Should it occur CHEROKEE may not give satisfactory control and no responsibility can be accepted for any loss incurred.
CHEROKEE applied to winter wheat in the spring at GS30–33 may, on occasion, cause straw shortening. This effect causes no loss of yield and can be beneficial in a potential lodging situation.

DISSEASES CONTROLLED
CHEROKEE controls the following diseases:
Wheat (winter and spring)
Brown Rust (Puccinia recondita)
Leaf Spot (Septoria tritici)
Yellow Rust (Puccinia striiformis)
Powdery Mildew (Erysiphe graminis hordei) [MODERATE]
Barley (winter and spring)
Net blotch (Pyrenophora teres) [REDUCTION]
Powdery Mildew (Erysiphe graminis hordei)
Leaf Blotch (Rhynchosporium secalis) [REDUCTION]
Brown Rust (Puccinia hordei)
A reduction in barley spotting is also achieved when used as part of a programme with other fungicides.

CROP SPECIFIC INFORMATION
For use on all varieties of winter wheat and winter and spring barley.
Avoid applying CHEROKEE to crops under stress.
Timing
For the control of Powdery Mildew, Yellow and Brown Rust, Septoria tritici., Net Blotch and Rhynchosporium, apply at the first sign of disease.
For Eyespot when applied before or during the period of stem extension in the spring (GS30–32), CHEROKEE will give a useful reduction.
Always inspect the crops to assess disease development immediately before spraying. Best results will be achieved from applications made as a protectant treatment or in the earliest stages of disease development following a disease risk assessment or the use of appropriate decision support systems.The latest time of application for CHEROKEE is before GS71 (grain watery stage) for winter wheat and before GS51 (beginning of heading, first spikelet just visible) for barley.
Rates of Use
Apply CHEROKEE at 2.0 l/ha. A maximum of 4.0 l/ha CHEROKEE may be used per crop.

MIXING AND SPRAYING
Apply CHEROKEE in 200 litres of water per hectare using a tractor mounted sprayer and a medium spray as defined by BCPC. A spray pressure of 2–3 bars is recommended.
Make sure the sprayer is set to give an even application at the correct volume.
Fill the spray tank with half the required volume of clean water and start agitation. Add the required amount of CHEROKEE to the spray tank. Top up tank with water to the required level. Continue agitation whilst topping up the spray tank and continue agitation during spraying. Wash out all spray equipment thoroughly with water immediately after use.
Wash out container thoroughly, preferably using an integrated pressure rinsing device, or manually rinse three times. Add washings to the sprayer at the time of filling. Complete filling to the required volume and continue to agitate throughout the spraying operation.

RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT
CHEROKEE is a co-formulated mixture of triazoles and chlorothalonil. These active ingredients possess different modes of action thus form part of a resistance management strategy.
CHEROKEE should be used preventatively and should not be relied upon for its curative potential.
Use CHEROKEE as part of an Integrated Crop Management (ICM) strategy incorporating other methods of control, including where appropriate, other fungicides with a different mode of action.
