A suspension concentrate containing 60 g/L cyproconazole+150 g/L penthiopyrad for control of Septoria in wheat, durum wheat and triticale.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the Product Label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.

Restrictions
CIELEX should not be applied to any crop suffering from stress as a result of drought, waterlogging, low temperatures, nutrient or lime deficiency or other factors reducing crop growth.
Avoid application in either frosty or hot, sunny weather conditions.

Disease Control
CIELEX contains cyproconazole (a DMI fungicide) and penthiopyrad (a succinate dehydrogenease inhibitor (SDHI)). At the recommended rate of application, CIELEX controls Septoria leaf blotch
Disease control is generally more effective if CIELEX is applied as a protectant treatment or during the earliest stages of disease development.

Dose
Apply CIELEX at 1.67 L/ha.

Crops
CIELEX can be used on all winter and spring crops of wheat, durum wheat and triticale. Apply CIELEX under good growing conditions with adequate soil moisture. Avoid poor growing conditions which may give less reliable results.

Timing
Best results will be achieved from applications made as a protectant treatment or in the earliest stages of disease development. CIELEX may be applied from the beginning of stem elongation (GS 30) up to before the early boot stage; flag leaf fully extending stage (GS 41). Follow up treatment with suitable alternative fungicides may be required to provide season long control.

Resistance
Use CIELEX as part of an Integrated Crop Management (ICM) strategy incorporating other methods of control, including where appropriate other fungicides with a different mode of action. Disease control may be reduced if strains of pathogens less sensitive to penthiopyrad develop.
When fungicides with the same mode of action are used repeatedly over several years in the same field, naturally occurring less sensitive strains may survive, propagate and become dominant in that field. A pathogen is considered resistant to a fungicide if it survives a correctly applied treatment at a recommended dose and timing, under normal weather conditions. For control of Septoria leaf blotch, CIELEX must always be used in mixture with another product, recommended for its control and contains a fungicide from a different cross resistance group to SDHI’s and is applied at a dose that will give robust control.
Do not apply more than two foliar applications of SDHI containing products to any cereal crop. Users should refer to current FRAC guidelines for SDHI compounds Resistance to DMI fungicides has been identified in Septoria leaf blotch (Mycosphaerella graminicola), which may seriously affect the performance of some products. For further advice on resistance management, contact your agronomist or specialist advisor and visit The Fungicide Action group (FRAG) website.

Volume and Application
Apply in 200 - 300 litres/ha of water using spraying equipment to give good even coverage of the crop. The higher volumes are recommended when the crop is dense. A spray pressure of 2 – 3 Bar is recommended.

Mixing
Ensure that the sprayer is clean and correctly set to give an even application at the required volume. Half-fill the spray tank with clean water and start agitation. Shake the container and add the required amount of CIELEX to the sprayer using a filling device (e.g. induction bowl or closed transfer unit) or by direct addition to the sprayer tank. Wash out containers thoroughly, preferably using an integrated pressure rinsing device, or manually rinse three times. Add washings to the sprayer at the time of filling. Complete filling to the required volume and continue to agitate throughout the spraying operation. Do not leave the spray liquid in the sprayer for long periods (such as during meal breaks or overnight).

Compatibility
Products should only be tank-mixed if each product can be applied within the label recommendations for its use. For further information contact your DuPont distributor.
