A wettable powder containing 4.5% w/w cymoxanil and 68% w/w mancozeb for the control of potato blight.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
DISEASE CONTROL
CURZATE M combines the local systemic action of cymoxanil and the protectant activity of mancozeb for the control of blight (Phytophthora infestans) of potatoes.
The rapid penetration of cymoxanil into the leaf and its post-infection, curative activity means that CURZATE M provides blight protection both inside and outside the leaf.
CURZATE M will control strains of blight both resistant and sensitive to phenylamides.
CROPS
CURZATE M can be used on all varieties of early and maincrop potatoes. On crops grown for processing consult your processor before use.
TIMING AND WEATHER
Timing of spray applications should take into account the normal prevalence of the disease in the area and conditions in the particular season. The first spray should be applied as soon as there is a risk of blight infection or an official warning has been issued. In the absence of a warning, spraying should begin just before the crop meets along the rows.
Applications should be repeated at 10-14 day intervals depending on the prevalence of the disease and favourable conditions for infection. A 7 day spray interval may be used under exceptional circumstances e.g. blight risk is already high and rain is forecast at the time of the next 10 day spray is due. The longer interval is recommended under dry conditions. The maximum number of applications of CURZATE M is 6 per crop. Spraying can continue as long as blight conditions last and until the haulm dies down or is burnt off. Irrigation of crops increases the risk of blight and crops should always be sprayed with CURZATE M as soon as possible after irrigation.
High risk situations include conditions of rapid growth, irrigated crops, areas of intensive potato growing, particularly blight-sensitive varieties, when further warnings are issued, or when active blight is in the area.
RATE OF APPLICATION
Apply 2.5 kg CURZATE M per hectare by ground application equipment in not less than 200 litres of water/ha (2.25 lb/acre in not less that 20 gal of water/acre).
No more than six applications to be made per crop.
MIXING
CURZATE M should not be added directly to the spray tank. Cream the required amount in a small quantity of water, pour and rinse through the filter into a half-filled spray tank.
Agitate thoroughly whilst filling and throughout the spraying operation.
Do not leave spray mixture in tank for prolonged periods.
WARNING
KEEP AWAY FROM FIRE OR SPARKS.
Do not allow CURZATE M to become wet during storage or keep opened packs from one season to another as this may reduce the effectiveness of the fungicide and may create vapours which may be flammable.
