DIRECTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the product label.
All instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.

GENERAL INFORMATION
DIFEND is a flowable concentrate for seed treatment containing 30 g/l (2.9% w/w) difenoconazole for use on wheat, rye and triticale.
DIFEND is well tolerated over a wide range of sowing dates and conditions. However under adverse environmental or soil conditions, the germination capacity of seed may be reduced and therefore seed rates should be increased in accordance with good agricultural practice.

DISEASES CONTROLLED
Spring and winter crops of wheat, rye and Triticale
Common bunt (Tilletia tritici)
Stinking smut (Tilletia foetida)
Dwarf bunt (Tilletia contraversa)

DOSE RATE
Common bunt and stinking smut: 200 mL/100 kg seeds
Dwarf bunt: 200 – 250 mL/100 kg seeds

MIXING AND SPRAYING
Apply DIFEND before drilling. DIFEND should be applied directly to the seed using conventional seed treatment equipment.
Continuous flow treaters should be calibrated using DIFEND before use.
Do not apply DIFEND to cracked, split or sprouted seed.

STORAGE AFTER TREATMENT
Ensure seed is of a satisfactory moisture content before storage. Keep in a dry place correctly labelled. Although DIFEND is not known to have any effect on the storage life of treated seed, the subsequent germination and performance of such seed may be adversely affected by physical storage conditions. No liability can therefore be accepted for the performance of stored, treated seed.

DRILLING
Seed treated with DIFEND may affect the flow rate of seed through drills. It is therefore important to check the calibration of the drill with DIFEND treated seed before drilling commences.

COMPATIBILITIES
DIFEND may not be mixed with products containing organic solvents.
