DIRECTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the Product Label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.

Do not use for any other purpose than treatment of freshly cut tree stumps.
Weeds controlled
Stumps of broad leaved trees as listed under Recommendation Tables for Cut Stumps.
Stump Treatment
Drill a hole(s) 30-35mm deep using a 13mm drill bit (or use Ecoplug Max’s adapted drill bit) either from above or into the side of the stump. Check the Recommendation Table and space the holes not more than 6-8cm apart around the entire circumference of the stump. From above, drill as close to the bark as possible because the tree’s transport system is directly adjacent to the bark.
Insert Ecoplug Max plugs into each hole with the thicker end protruding outwards. Using a hammer, drive the Ecoplug Max plug in completely so that its head seals the drilled hole causing the plug to release the herbicide. The total number of plugs used will depend on the tree species and the diameter of the stump as indicated in the Recommendation Table. If there are buttress roots apply an Ecoplug Max plug to each of them.
For best results, stump treatment should be done not more than two days after felling.
Ecoplug Max may be used in any weather at any time of the year.
Information on symptoms, timing and re-treatment
Without Ecoplug Max, sprouting from cut stumps occurs in the spring or early summer following felling in the dormant period (autumn/winter). This may be >6 months after felling. In the case of spring or summer felling sprouting occurs 3-12 weeks after felling. Symptoms of successful treatment with Ecoplug Max are the absence of sprouting in the following spring or summer whether applied in the dormant or active period of tree growth. In rare cases sprouting may only be delayed or reduced resulting in stunted and malformed chlorotic growth of sprouts. In such cases complete kill can be obtained by inserting an Ecoplug Max plug just below the surviving sprout.
