Fungicide for the control of foliar blight in potatoes
Composition : 193.6 g/l Metalaxyl-M (mefenoxam) and 400 g/l fluazinam

GENERAL INFORMATION
EPOK 600 EC is a fungicide with systemic and protectant properties which controls foliar blight of potatoes (Phytophthora infestans) when used as directed. The systemic component of EPOK 600 EC (mefenoxam) works best on young actively growing foliage and effi cacy declines with the onset of senescence. It is recommended, therefore, that EPOK 600 EC is only used for the fi rst part of the blight control program that should be completed with a reliable protectant fungicide. Do not contaminate water with the product or its container (Do not clean application equipment near surface water / Avoid contamination via drains from farmyards and roads).

CAUTION - RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT
Strains of the potato blight fungus resistant to phenylamide fungicides (metalaxyl, mefenoxam and benalaxyl) occur. FRAC (Fungicide Resistance Action Committee) have defi ned guidelines for the effective management of blight with these fungicides, which are incorporated in this label. Since the occurrence of resistance cannot be forecasted, neither ISK Biosciences Europe S.A. nor its distributors can accept responsibility for any loss or damage to crops caused by the failure of EPOK 600 EC to control resistant strains. No more than fi ve applications of phenylamide-containing products should be applied to a crop. EPOK 600 EC should not be used on potato crops which follow a potato crop that has been grown in the same fi eld that season.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE Important: This information is approved as part of the product label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.
Blight control programs should start before the risk of blight infection occurs. EPOK 600 EC should not be applied where blight is already established in the crop, i.e. do not use curatively. EPOK 600 EC should not be applied during periods of very high temperature.

Dose rate
Apply EPOK 600 EC at 0.5l product/ha and allow a maximum interval of 7 days between applications.
Maximum number of treatments: Three per crop Latest time of application: Seven days before harvest

Timing
Apply EPOK 600 EC before the end of active growth of the potato haulm or before the end of August, whichever is the earlier (provided the statutory conditions of use are met). Spraying with EPOK 600 EC should begin either:
1. Immediately if risk of potato blight occurs in the area irrespective of the crop growth stage
OR
2. In the absence of blight risk, spraying should begin as crops meet along (not across) the rows, generally when plants are 15-20 cm high
Further sprays of EPOK 600 EC should be made according to blight risk. Potatoes are at risk of infection with potato blight where warm (temperatures around 8-10°C or above) humid (rain, fog, mists or irrigation) weather conditions exist for at least two consecutive days or nights. However, any period of warmth and humidity will increase the blight risk. After treatment of fi rst and second early crops, haulm remaining after harvest must be completely destroyed or removed immediately to minimize blight pressure on neighbouring maincrop potatoes.

Spray Volume
Apply EPOK 600 EC in not less than 200 litres of water per hectare. A FINE quality spray is preferred when EPOK 600 EC is to be applied alone but when used in mixture with other products a MEDIUM quality spray should be used (as defi ned by BCPC). Sprays should be applied at a pressure of 2-3 bar. Make any further applications of EPOK 600 EC in the program

Mixing
SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE Half fi ll the spray tank with clean water. Commence agitation. Steadily pour the required amount of EPOK 600 EC into the spray tank or induction bowl. Ensure all product has thoroughly mixed with the water and no traces are present in the induction bowl before adding any other product. Complete fi lling of the spray tank and maintain agitation until spraying is complete.

Monitoring of Spray
Program Sprayed crops should be monitored throughout the complete period of the protection program. If blight is identifi ed in crops sprayed with EPOK 600 EC then stop using EPOK 600 EC and switch to a fungicide not coming from the same chemical family as EPOK 600 EC. This subsequent fungicide should be sprayed when blight is identifi ed and within 7 days of the last EPOK 600 EC spray. The spray program must then continue using alternative products at recommended intervals right up to complete haulm destruction or harvesting. Do not in any circumstances make any further applications of EPOK 600 EC in the program.

Subsequent Treatments
Where crops are to be harvested before natural haulm senescence, follow up treatments after EPOK 600 EC should be made using a protectant fungicide and starting no later than 10 days after the last EPOK 600 EC application. At least 2 protectant sprays should be applied to the crop before harvesting, desiccation or haulm destruction. NB: It is not advised to use products containing phenylamide fungicides (e.g. Ridomil Gold and Galben M) after EPOK 600 EC. CONSULT PROCESSOR BEFORE USING ON CROPS INTENDED FOR PROCESSING.
