DIRECTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the Product Label. All instructions within this section must be carefully read in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.

DISEASES CONTROLLED
FARMCO CHLOROTHALONIL contains chlorothalonil, a non-systemic broad-spectrum fungicide for use on winter wheat, spring wheat, durum wheat, rye, triticale, winter barley and spring barley. When sprayed onto foliage it provides long lasting protection. Best results from this protectant property are obtained by treatment before disease enters the crop or at the first sign of attack.

CROP SPECIFIC INFORMATION
Winter Wheat, Spring Wheat, Durum Wheat, Rye and Triticale
Moderate control of Leaf Blotch (Mycosphaerella graminicola) and Glume Blotch (Phaeosphaeria nodorum). Triticale (Mycosphaerella graminicola only).
RATE OF USE
Apply 2.0 litres in 200 litres of water per hectare as a MEDIUM spray at a pressure of at least 2.0 bar.
TIMING
Growth stage 30-32 (2nd node detectable). FARMCO CHLOROTHALONIL may be applied up to maximum individual dose of 2.0 l/ha if Septoria is evident and/or conditions are favourable for the spread of the disease. This may give protection against the spread of Septoria.
Growth stage 33-65 FARMCO CHLOROTHALONIL will provide protection against Septoria on the flag leaf and ear and should normally be applied between the third node detectable stage (GS33) and the mid flowering stage (GS65). For best results apply up to 2.0 l/ha between the third node detectable stage (GS33) and the flag leaf fully emerged stage (GS39).
The activity of FARMCO CHLOROTHALONIL against Septoria may be reduced in the presence of serious mildew infection. If mildew is also a problem combined use FARMCO CHLOROTHALONIL and a suitable mildew fungicide is recommended (see Compatibility Section).

Winter Barley, Spring Barley, Rye and Triticale
Moderate control of Leaf Scald (Rhynchosporium secalis).
RATE OF USE
Apply 2.0 litres in a minimum of 200 litres of water per hectare as a MEDIUM spray at a pressure of at least 2.0 bar.
TIMING
Apply the first application as soon as disease is first detected in the crop. A second application may be made before beginning of heading (GS51) if severe Rhynchosporium pressure occurs.

Use in Tank Mixture
FARMCO CHLOROTHALONIL must always be used in combination with a tank mix partner. FARMCO CHLOROTHALONIL should be used as part of an integrated fungicide programme (See Compatibility Section).

RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT
Chlorothalonil is a protectant, non-systemic fungicide, which has been used commercially for many years with no cases of resistance recorded. Mixed with DMI or QoI fungicides, its multi-site, protectant activity makes it an ideal partner against Mycosphaerella graminicola (cause of Septoria leaf blotch), as part of an anti-resistance strategy, particularly at early spray timings.
Effective resistance management depends on limiting the exposure of the target pathogen to the fungicide. Therefore, chlorothalonil can also be used preventively up to GS31 to reduce the build-up of disease before the applications later in the season of fungicides known to be at greater risk of resistance development.

Consult your adviser for up to date guidance regarding current resistance status and a strategy for preventing and managing resistance in the cereal pathogens listed on the label.

MIXING AND SPRAYING
Preparation of Sprayer
Ensure that the sprayer is clean and correctly set to give even application at the required volume.
Half fill the spray tank with clean water and start agitation. Slowly invert the container several times and add the required amount of FARMCO CHLOROTHALONIL to the sprayer using a filling device (e.g. induction hopper) or by direct addition to the spray tank. Rinse the container clean. Preferably use an integrated pressure rinsing device or manually rinse three times. Add washings to the sprayer at the time of filling. Agitate during completion of filling and while spraying. Do not leave in spray tank for long periods without using.
Volume of Water and Spraying
See individual crop recommendations for recommended water volume.
After Use
Dispose of rinsed container according to the local Code of Practice.
