DIRECTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the Product Label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.

Restrictions
FARMCO PENACHE should not be applied to any crop suffering from stress as a result of drought, waterlogging, low temperatures, nutrient or lime deficiency or other factors reducing crop growth.
Avoid application in either frosty or hot, sunny weather conditions.
Up to 2 treatments may be applied per crop.

Disease Control
FARMCO PENACHE contains chlorothalonil (a phthalonitrile fungicide) and penthiopyrad (a succinate dehydrogenease inhibitor (SDHI)) and controls a range of diseases of wheat and barley, oats, rye and triticale.
Disease control is generally more effective if FARMCO PENACHE is appliedas a protectant treatment or in the earliest stages of disease development.

Resistance
Use FARMCO PENACHE as part of an Integrated Crop Management (ICM) strategy incorporating other methods of control, including where appropriate other fungicides with a different mode of action. Disease control may be reduced if strains of pathogens less sensitive to penthiopyrad develop. When fungicides with the same mode of action are used repeatedly ove several years in the same field, naturally occurring less sensitive strains may survive, propagate and become dominant in that field. A pathogen is considered resistant to a fungicide if it survives a correctly applied treatment at a recommended dose and timing, under normal weather conditions. Do not apply more than two foliar applications of SDHI containing products to any cereal crop. Users should refer to current guidelines for SDHI compounds.

Volume and Application
Apply in 200-300 litres/ha of water using spraying equipment to give good even coverage of the crop. The higher volumes are recommended when the crop is dense. A spray pressure of 2-3 Bar is recommended.

Mixing
Ensure that the sprayer is clean and correctly set to give an even application at the required volume. Half-fill the spray tank with clean water and start agitation. Shake the container and add the required amount of FARMCO PENACHE to the sprayer using a filling device (e.g. induction bowl or closed transfer unit) or by direct addition to the sprayer tank. Wash out containers thoroughly, preferably using an integrated pressure rinsing device, or manually rinse three times. Add washings to the sprayer at the time of fillimg. Complete filling to the required volume and continue to agitate thoughout the spraying operation. Do not leave the spray liquid in the sprayer for long periods (such as during meal breaks or overnight).

Crops
FARMCO PENACHE can be used on all winter and spring crops of wheat and barley, rye and triticale. It may also be applied to barley undersown with grass/clover. Apply FARMCO PENACHE under good growing conditions with adequate soil moisture. Avoid poor growing conditions which may give less reliable results.

Dose
Apply FARMCO PENACHE at 2.5 litre per hectare.

Timing
Best results will be achieved from applications made as a protectant treatment or in the earliest stages of disease development. FARMCO PENACHE may be applied from the beginning of stem elongation (GS 30) up to before the beginning of flowering/ first anthers visible (GS 61) on barley and before the grain watery ripe stage (GS 71) on wheat, rye and triticale. Up to a maximum of 2 treatments may be made. If a second treatment is required, this may be applied after 21 days.

Compatibility
Products should only be tank-mixed if each product can be applied within the label recommendations for its use.
