DISEASES CONTROLLED
JOULES contains chlorothalonil, a non-systemic broad spectrum protectant fungicide for use on wheat, durum wheat, rye, triticale and barley. Best results are obtained by treatment before disease enters the crop or at the first sign of attack.
JOULES controls the following diseases:
Winter and spring wheat - *Protection against Septoria Leaf blotch (Mycosphaerella graminicola) moderate control. Glume blotch (Phaeosphaeria nodorum) moderate control.
Durum wheat - *
Protection against Septoria Leaf blotch (Mycosphaerella graminicola) moderate control. Glume blotch (Phaeosphaeria nodorum) moderate control
Rye -
Septoria Leaf blotch (Mycosphaerella graminicola) moderate control. Glume blotch (Phaeosphaeria nodorum) moderate control and Leaf scald (Rhynchosporium secalis) moderate control.
Triticale -
Septoria Leaf blotch (Mycosphaerella graminicola) moderate control. Leaf scald (Rhynchosporium secalis) moderate control.
Winter and spring barley -
Leaf scald (Rhynchosporium secalis) moderate control.
*The activity of JOULES against Septoria may be reduced in the presence of serious Mildew infection. If mildew is also a problem combined use of JOULES and a suitable mildew fungicide is recommended.
It is very important to achieve a good spray coverage of all foliage.

CROP SPECIFIC INFORMATION
Wheat, Durum Wheat, Rye, Triticale
Dose rate
2.0 l/ha.
Timing
Growth stage 30–32 Applied once up to maximum individual dose of 2.0 l/ha if Septoria is evident and/or conditions are favourable for the spread of the disease. This may give protection against the spread of Septoria.
Growth stage 33–65 Provides protection against Septoria on the flag leaf and ear and should normally be applied between the third node detectable stage (GS 33) and the mid-flowering stage (GS 65).
For best results apply up to 2.0 l/ha between the third node detectable stage (GS 33) and the flag leaf fully emerged stage (GS 39).
Water volume
Apply in a minimum of 160 litres of water per hectare.

Barley
Dose rate
2.0 l/ha.
Timing
Apply as soon as disease is first detected in the crop. A second application may be made up to GS 59 if severe Rhychosporium pressure occurs.
Water volume
Apply in a minimum of 160 litres of water per hectare.

Tank Mixes
JOULES should be used as part of an integrated fungicide programme.

MIXING AND SPRAYING
Ensure that the sprayer is clean and correctly set to give even application at the required volume. Use a MEDIUM spray (as defined by BCPC) at a pressure of at least 2.0 bar.
Half fill the spray tank with clean water and start agitation. Slowly invert the container several times and add the required amount of JOULES to the sprayer using a filling device (e.g. induction hopper) or by direct addition to the spray tank. Rinse the container clean. Preferably use an integrated pressure rinsing device or manually rinse three times. Add washings to the sprayer at the time of filling. Agitate during completion of filling and while spraying. Do not leave in spray tank for long periods without using.

COMPATIBILITY
Please consult your Nufarm distributor.
Before using any tank mixture also consult and comply with the recommendations of the partner product. Each product should be added separately to the bulk of water in the spray tank and thoroughly mixed before adding the next chemical. Agitate during completion of filling and spray immediately.
