Bait containing 40 g/kg metaldehyde
For the control of slugs and snails in all agricultural crops, vegetables, fruit crops, ornamentals and glasshouse crops METAREX INOV contains a bittering agent

Restrictions
The maximum total dose must not exceed 17.5 kg product per hectare per year. In high-risk situations, where additional treatments against slugs are necessary beyond the permissible 700 g metaldehyde per hectare per year total dose, use an alternative slug control product not containing metaldehyde.
In order to avoid a build-up of resistance, the product should be used alternately with products from other active substance groups. Sufficient control of Spanish slug (Arion vulgaris Syn. Arion lusitanicus) should not be expected in every case.
The product is poisonous to pets. Keep pets away. Do not place in piles. Sweep up and remove spilt pellets immediately. Repeat treatments are recommended under conditions of high slug pressure.

Application
METAREX INOV may be applied by mechanical applicator or by hand. Broadcast application generally gives the best results. Applications by hand are possible, especially when areas to be treated are small e.g. for glasshouse crops and/or for on-row applications.

Dose recommendation
Maximum individual dose: 5 kg/ha
Use the full dose when there is evidence of strong pest activity. METAREX INOV may be applied once at 4 kg/ha in-furrow at planting (sugar beet, fodder beet, beetroot, swede, turnip, oilseed crops, maize & sweetcorn), or in admixture with wheat seed at drilling.

Intervals and number of applications
Interval between applications: minimum 5 days.
a) Up to 7 days before sowing/drilling: one or two applications allowed.
b) At drilling: one application is allowed.
c) Pre and post-emergence: applications are permitted up to the maximum total dose of 17.5 kg/ha per crop per year.
METAREX INOV exhibits a strong weatherability. Re-treatment may be required, especially when pellets have been consumed or when subsequent generations occur.

Application timing
Best results are achieved when treatment takes place before damage occurs. For annual crops, it is advised to treat before emergence. Apply the product after seedbed preparation is complete.

Application timing should take into consideration:
Pest detection or likelihood of activity
Part of the crop targeted by the pest: whether it is the seeds, plants or tubers that are affec - ted will define a specific strategy
