Active materials
An emulsifiable concentrate formulation containing 400 g/l (38% w/w) prochloraz in xylene.
MIRAGE 40 EC is a broad-spectrum fungicide for the control or reduction of a range of stem, leaf and ear diseases in wheat, barley, winter rye and foliar diseases in oilseed rape.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
RESTRICTIONS
Do not spray wheat once the crop has reached the medium milk stage (GS75).
Do not spray barley and winter rye once the crop has reached the beginning of anthesis (GS61).
Do not spray oilseed rape later than the first awns visible stage (GS49).
Rainfall: A period of at least 3 hours without rain should follow spraying otherwise results may be reduced.
Drift: Avoid drift - do not spray in windy weather.
Tank Mixtures: Application of MIRAGE 40 EC with other fungicides may result in scorch to the crop.

DISEASE CONTROL
Wheat, Barley and Winter Rye
MIRAGE 40 EC controls, or gives protection against, the following cereal diseases, when applied in a programme of foliar sprays: Apply in water volumes of 200-400 l/ha.

Wheat
Eyespot (Pseudocercosporella herpotrichoides)
Glume blotch (Septoria nodorum)
Leaf spot (Septoria tritici)
Barley
Eyespot (Pseudocercosporella herpotrichoides)
Leaf blotch (Rhynchosporium)
Net blotch (Pyrenophora teres)
Powdery mildew (Erisyphe graminis)
Winter Rye & Triticale
Eyespot (Pseudocercosporella herpotrichoides)
Powdery mildew
Leaf blotch
Septoria
Sharp Eyespot (Rhizoctonia cerealis) and fusarium spp
A spray for the control of eyespot (Pseudocercosporella) will often give good reduction of Sharp Eyespot (Rhizoctonia) and fusarium if these diseases are developing at the time of application.
Oilseed Rape
MIRAGE 40 EC will control the following diseases on all varieties of Oilseed Rape:
Light leaf spot (Pyrenopeziza brassicae) - Control
Leaf spot/stem canker (Phoma lingam) - Control
White leaf spot (Pseudocercosporella capsellae) - Control
Stem rot (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum) - Moderate Control
Grey mould (Botrytis cinerea) - May give control
Dark leaf/pod spot (Alternaria brassicae) - Reduction

RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT STRATEGY
The efficacy of this product may be affected if strains of disease pathogens resistant or less sensitive occur at any time. As such occurrences cannot be predicted - no responsibility can be accepted for the results obtained.
To reduce the risk of development of resistance, do not apply more than two prochloraz based treatments to any crop.
MIRAGE 40EC contains a DMI fungicide. Resistance to some DMI fungicides has been identified in Septoria leaf blotch (Mycosphaerella graminicola) which may seriously affect the performance of some products. For further information on resistance management in DMI's contact your agronomist or specialist advisor.

CROP SPECIFIC INFORMATION
Cereals
Timing
First Spring treatment: Spray in the spring at the first sign of any of the above diseases. Apply from when the leaf sheaths begin to become erect (GS 30) until the first node is detectable (GS 31). Any over-wintering eyespot will be controlled at this time.
If weather conditions continue to favour eyespot development after treatment, a second spray may be necessary 4 to 6 weeks later, but no later than the third node detectable stage in wheat (GS 33) or flag leaf emergence in winter barley (GS 39).

Timing
Light Leaf Spot (Pyrenopeziza brassicae)
Apply at the first sign of light leaf spot in the autumn or winter when conditions favour spread of the disease. If new infection appears in the spring apply MIRAGE 40EC from the beginning of stem extension.
Leaf Spot/Stem Canker (Phoma lingam)
Phoma leaf spot is spread by rainsplash and can be found from October onwards. Spray at the first sign of infection during the autumn or winter.
Stem rot (Sclerotinia Sclerotiorum)
The spread of Sclerotinia is favoured by wet weather during flowering. For moderate control of this disease spray from early flowering in high risk situations. MIRAGE 40 EC is only effective when applied before the disease becomes established.
Grey mould (Botrytis cinerea)
Spray as soon as botrytis develops from stem extension onwards and if the infection continues apply a second spray during or after flowering.
White leaf spot (Pseudocercosporella capsellae)
Spray in the spring from stem extension to give white leaf spot control.
Rate of Use
Apply 1.25 l/ha in 200-400 litres per hectare (18-36 gallons per acre) water as a medium spray quality. Use the higher volume of water for dense crops or for the second treatment.

Mixing and Application
Shake well before use.
Add the required amount of MIRAGE 40 EC to the half filled spray tank. Add remainder of water whilst agitating. Continue to agitate the mixture until spraying is completed.
Wash out the sprayer thoroughly with water and add liquid detergent immediately after use.
Finally wash out with water and drain.
Do not re-use container for any other purpose.
