A microcapsule suspension concentrate formulation containing 40g/l Clomazone, 375 g/l Terbuthylazine and 75g/l Mesotrione. A selective herbicide for the control of annual grasses and broad-leaved weeds in forage and grain maize including crops grown under plastic.

TONALE is a herbicide for the control of annual grass and broad-leaved weeds in forage and grain maize including maize grown under plastic.

Restrictions/Warnings
For best results on open ground crops, young weeds are most susceptible.
Do not use on seed crops or on sweetcorn varieties.
TONALE should be applied pre-emergence to moist soils and to actively growing weeds used post-emergence.
Treatment in poor growing conditions or on dry soil may gives less reliable control.
Do not spray when foliage is wet.
Under adverse conditions mild to moderate chlorosis may be observed on sprayed leaves, this effect is usually transient and does not affect yield.

Take extreme care to avoid drift onto plants outside the treated area.
Ensure spray swaths do not overlap.
Addition of an adjuvant or tank mix wetting agent is not recommended.
The use of drift reducing measures are advised, only spray when wind speeds are between 1.2 – 4 miles per hour (Force 1 to 2 according to the Beaufort scale, measured at 10m above ground); maintain an appropriate boom height and forward speeds.
There is a risk to adjacent crops and non-crop vegetation from the volatilisation of clomazone. This may result in damage/bleaching to neighbouring vegetation. If effects are seen they must be reported via the stewardship program (see www.sipcamuk.co.uk or contact your crop protection distributor).

Resistance
There is a risk for the development of weed resistance to
TONALE. A strategy for preventing and managing such resistance should be adopted that includes alternation with herbicides with a different mode of action and a similar spectrum of activity. Guidelines have been produced by the
Weed Resistance Action Group and copies are available from your distributor, crop adviser or product manufacturer.
